@joseywales339 Ho Chi Minh did agree to a democratic government and the US didn't. The government created in 1945 was a multiparty one followed by direct vote in 1946. The US knew for sure Ho Chi Minh would have won in a countrywide election in 1956 AGAIN so it intervened and stopped it from happening. The US was the anti-democratic force here. The US itself from day one until now is always a fake democracy. It's always ruled by the super rich so htf can it 'hope' to implement a democratic government in the South?! How can it promote 'democracy' by installing a dictator in the South?! How can it promote 'democracy' by denying general election in Vietnam?! It's just a so lame 3ss excuse that only 3 year old minds can accept!

@Salva510, The French and American elites certainly saw it but they had to distort the truth and brainwash their respective population to support and die for their unjust war. They just couldn't have a war if they speak truth about it.
