What a load of crap! There's no 'external communist aggression' in Vietnam or South East Asia. It was indigenous popular movements led by local communists. The Vietnamese people chose local communist leadership because it's the only hope for independence from France. The US didn't help their cause. China did. Helping indigenous people fighting EXTERNAL COLONIAL AGGRESSION is not aggression! You deliberately turn everything up side down.
The US instead helped France, an EXTERNAL COLONIAL AGGRESSOR, reoccupying Vietnam. When France lost, the US jumped in directly and created the Republic of Vietnam (RVN or South Vietnam) which was despised by the people because it was created by an EXTERNAL IMPERIAL POWER and made up by the exact same traitors who served the French. Without the US, there would be no RVN. The US created it against the the will of the people so the US IS THE EXTERNAL AGGRESSION IMPERIALIST here.
The US used its creation, the RVN, as a front for an invasion and occupation of South Vietnam. Despite all this, the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (DRV) repeatedly asked and reminded the RVN to hold a general election to unify the country peacefully as stipulated in the Geneva Accords 1954. To answer the goodwill, the RVN started killing not only the communists but the people who supported them too in the South, so those people was forced to take up arms, and all hell broke lose. They were too much for the fake leaders and arm forces of the RVN to deal with so it was about to collapse and so the US had to bring its own troops in to 'defend' the fake country they created. That was in reality an US' invasion to keep its base called South Vietnam. The USSR and China only helped to expel the real EXTERNAL AGGRESSION which was the USA. They hadn't gotten involved in internal politics or military planning, strategy, had never brought troops in to kill people. The Vietnamese communists had every right to defend and unify their country, calling that 'invasion', 'aggression' sounds preposterous especially from the US which was the real EXTERNAL AGGRESSOR, INVADER in this story.

People who say it's because of the climate and environment need to find a natural map and look at it. Vietnam back then as Dai Viet only comprised of the northern 1/3rd of Vietnam today. On the west direction of that portion, it had only expanded to about 2/3rd of today's map from the eastern coastline. So it's about only half of many southern, central and eastern Chinese provinces today. So the Mongols should have conquered Dai Viet regardless because it was too small. That's why they chose to attack Dai Viet before Southern Song.
Second, but they weren't the factors at all! The climate of that part of Vietnam, Dai Viet back then, is identical to the adjacent Chinese provinces. It's subtropical. There were no jungle warfare as many have ignorantly imagined because no jungle from the Chinese border to the southern tip of the Red River Delta. The Mongols had already conquered all those Chinese provinces with the same climate and together they were many times bigger than Dai Viet. They also selected troops from there, so there's absolutely no problem here. AND in all three attempts to conquer Dai Viet, they always chose to attack in December and January so it's still cold and sometimes very cold. No heat nor tropical disease because it was neither hot when they attacked nor does Dai Viet have tropical climate!
The terrain in the mountainous area of Dai Viet is nothing compare to those of Yunnan, (Dali kingdom back then), Sichuan and Tibet which the Mongols had already crossed and conquered before reaching Dai Viet. The whole Dai Viet back then, all rough and flat lands together, was many times smaller than the mountainous area of those places. The peaks are twice lower, and there's no permafrost areas. From the Chinese border near the Vietnamese city of Lang Son today, the Mongols needed to cross only 70 km of mountainous area to reach the Red River Delta. If they could cross thousands of kilometers of real harsh environment of China and Tibet, Dai Viet should be a cruise. It's really an insult to them if someone says the terrain in Dai Viet could be a hindrance.
And so for the Mongols, it was indeed always a cruise in all three invasions from the Chinese border to the capital city of Thang Long (Hanoi today). Taking it also wasn’t a big problem. Holding onto it and running back home were.
Some say Dai Viet won by employing guerilla warfare. This is nothing further from the truth. In all three invasions, it was always decided by big battles, and the two sides fought in big battles in large numbers most of the time. Guerilla warfare only happened when the Mongols were running home through the mountainous area in the first two invasions or marching in in the third invasion.
So please make a video debunking all these myths. This series is not complete without talking about it.

And so for the Mongols, it was indeed always a cruise in all three invasions from the Chinese border to the capital city of Thang Long (Hanoi today). Reaching and taking that capital city were never a problem for them. Staying and running back home were. All the major and decisive battles were fought on that flat land and rivers of the Red River Delta. So what’s the next excuse now?
The number of Chinese who fled to Vietnam were small and negligible in every aspect, barely mentioned in any historical record. There was no Chinese general who fled China held any position in the resistance forces. They might have known the Mongols but the Viets had also known them through the first invasion when Song hadn't fallen yet. There were no fleeing Chinese then but Dai Viet had defeated them anyway. The Chinese have a very bad habit of claiming credit for every good thing happened on earth. But look, they couldn't hold off the Mongols when they were tens of times bigger in both number and territories than Dai Viet and the Mongols themselves at the beginning, so how could they in anyway help Dai Viet where the situation was reversed?! They had lost big time, that's why they ran remember?!

@wyattmcgee1
Can you criticize the government in Vietnam? Yes. You say No because you're brainwashed into believing so. It's simply not the truth!
Can you vote for parties other than the Communist Party? No, but for Vietnam's case, that's just a result of history, practical needs and the way of the system. It can't be used to prove the VCP 'tyrannical'! Saying one party system is automatically 'tyrannical' and two party system is automatically democratic is moronic!
Are opposition newspapers allowed? No but that cannot be used to prove the government is 'tyrannical'. If the VCP serves the mass, why do you need 'opposition' newspapers? In that case, 'opposition' means going against the mass, i.e., undemocratic. If you support that kind of 'opposition', you're supporting tyranny here! In the capitalist system of the west, the ruling parties are inherently in the pocket of the capitalists, a tiny minority, undemocratic, that's why it needs opposition to protect the interests of the mass.
More over, in Vietnam's case, she's already too busy dealing with constant barrage of fake news, slandering, propaganda from the capitalist west. That itself is a very big and stubborn opposition already so why does she need more from inside the country?!
Have people been tortured by the government? Is religion persecuted in Vietnam? No. Again, you're just a brainwashed tool believing in fairy tales and ignore reality here. The US tortures people and so is tyrannical. Yes. And fact: Vietnam has more freedom of religion than the west.

@MoeHamHead-bx7og According to your books, all Pol Pot had wanted was to overthrow Sihanouk, but Vietnam didn't support it and so he hated Vietnam for that, so how t fcan you say Vietnam supported him?! Vietnam supported Sihanouk, not Pol Pot! You see? Apparently you don't understand your own books!
Other part of your citing described a brief period of 1970 after Sihanouk was overthrown by the US. That was the only period when there was some cooperation between Vietnam and Pol Pot's KR. Vietnam did that because Lon Nol, after overthrowing of Sihanouk, had joined forces with the US and the Saigon regime to conduct large scale operations into VCs controlled areas in Cambodia. The Vietnamese fought back, seized territories, and and gave some of them back to the KR to free up their forces for other offensive missions in South Vietnam. If this is what you called 'supporting the KR', the US was the one who forced it!
The US' overthrowing of Sihanouk, bombing and invasion of Cambodia in 1970s helped destabilize Cambodia and fill the rank of the KR and made them a formidable force which they weren't before.
The relation between Vietnam and the KR turned bad quickly afterwards because Pol Pot had never trusted Vietnam. He wanted Vietnam's help but when they got close he was afraid of being controlled! So there were clashes soon after. He jailed remaining Vietnamese trained cadres and executed them all by 1973. So, Vietnam didn't support Pol Pot up until he started invading and killing Vietnamese after 1975 as you said.
Anyway, the real evil here is the US' and China's support of the KR and Pol Pot AFTER THE GENOCIDE.

@mottscottison6943 You probably get your those two-bit BS from the Chinese propaganda machine. There were no skirmishes between Vietnam and Laos. Laos was on Vietnam's side in the fight against the murderous Khmer Rouge regime. As for Cambodia, the Khmer Rouge which was backed and encouraged by China, attacked Vietnam FIRST across the border and massacred Viet villagers there right after it took over Cambodia in Arpril 1975. For the next 3 years, all requests for talk from Vietnam had always been turned down by it. Hunsen, the Cambodian prime minister now and was a low level cadre of the Khmer Rouge at the time, fled to Vietnam in 1977 after he witnessed its barbarism against its own people, the Chinese and Vietnamese there, and asked for help. There's no other way around, Vietnam had to mount an offensive to depose the Khmer Rouge and stop the genocide in December 1978.
The Khmer Rouge was deposed quickly but its remnants fled to the Thal-Cambodian border and hid there. Vietnam followed suit and tried to get them there but the US ordered Thailand to give them refuge inside its border. The US and China at that time were in bed against the Soviet Union. The US just recognized the Chinese mainland government as the sole government of China, severed diplomatic tie with Taiwan as a country and recognized 'one China policy' of China in January 1979, so they were very close. The US, still very much butt0hurt from its loss in the Vietnam War, found a chance to get back at Vietnam; China, also very butt0hurt because Vietnam didn't want to become its vassal state, decided to gang up against Vietnam to relieve their petty pain.
That's why the US ordered its dog, Thailand, to house the Khmer Rouge. Diplomatically, China, the US and another US' dog, Singapore, had supported the seat of the Khmer Rouge at the UN for the next 10 years. Militarily, The US and China funded, fed, and armed the Khmer Rouge forces to continue to fight from Thailand. The UK's SAS provided training. Singapore acted as the middle man to transfer the weapons and money to them to hide its master's dirty deeds from the world.
Without completely destroying Khmer Rouge forces, Vietnam forces couldn't go home because they might come back and every previous efforts and loss of lives would be wasted, so Vietnam had to cross the Thai-Cambodian border to wipe them out. So that's the reason Vietnam crossed that border.
On its part, China tried to stab Vietnam in the back at its border with Vietnam in hope to scare Vietnam to pull out of Cambodia. It also tried to impress the US, its new evil friend with an evil act, and to prove that it's really on the US side against the USSR and Vietnam.
Not only China failed to scare Vietnam, it also got 20,000 dead in just THREE WEEKS for attacking Vietnam. For comparison, the US lost 55,000 in its entire involvement in the Vietnam War which lasted 13 years! Not only China failed to 'teach' Vietnam a lesson, it also re-learn the same old lesson that it can't scare Vietnam and would pay a very heavy price if it tries to 'teach' Vietnam!
So learn about what really happened. China-US was the sadistic evil force here. To have a chance to satisfy their petty grudges against Vietnam, they didn't give a f about the millions Cambodians died under the hand of the Khmer Rouge. Heck China didn't even give a f about the Chinese-Cambodians murdered by it and the 20,000 Chinese dead troops at the Viet border too! LOL!

@jetli740 And here are the reasons Vietnam's not buying. Vietnam always has very clear and good reasons, unlike China:
1. You must agree with me that the vast majority of Chinese hate Vietnam to the bone for no apparent reason right? So how can Viets entrust their lives to China?!
2. Because of that, even if the government chooses to buy, there's no guarantee the people are gonna take it, so the money's gonna be wasted. Are you ready to buy something knowing for sure that you're gonna throw them away the next day?!
3. If Vietnam buys Chinese vaccine, based on history, China will claim credit for 'saving Vietnam', 'without China, all Viets would have been wiped off the face of the earth', 'there's no Vietnam without Chinese vaccine', 'Vietnam must give China some territories as gratitude otherwise it is stabbing China in the back', blah, blah, blah...
So if you were Vietnam, would you buy Chinese vaccine?! LOL!

This is just mindlessly repeating stupid cheap ass Cold War propaganda. First, there was a system that had actually caused 2 million deaths from hunger in Vietnam, not just near death, and it was colonialism which is capitalism, not communism. The communists were the ones who saved the population from that famine caused by capitalism in 1945! Second, the Vietnamese communists party has been running Vietnam but that doesn't mean Vietnam has ever been living under communism. Those are two different things that doesn't necessarily/automatically go hand in hand. Even the Soviet Union in all of its 70 years plus of existence had ever claimed that it had reached and lived under communism! There's totally no private ownership of means of production under communism, but the land reform program in the 1950s in Vietnam had actually increased private ownership because it redistributed lands from a few local landlords, the French colonists, and the Catholic church who had been robbing the people blind for decades, to the mass! That's how the communists could get support from the vast majority of Vietnamese literately overnight to win against superpowers! The hardship after the Vietnam War was caused primarily by the coward total blockade, economic sanctions from the west. In another word, it was also caused by capitalism! Vietnam also was forced into two wars to defend herself against the Khmer Rouge and China backed by the US for a decade. She had to feed the Cambodian population after the disposal of the Pol Pot regime because the west also imposed sanction against Cambodia too for being liberated by Vietnam! Despite all that, there were NO deaths by hunger in Vietnam or Cambodia in that period. So if anything it could only proved the communists were actually really good at running the country! There are mass hunger and millions of homeless people right now in the US despite the fact that it's the 'richest country in the world' that has never faced any hardship whatsoever! So there is something really sick about capitalism that you need to talk about right there!

@HelloWorld-f5m Look for the biography of Pol Pot on Wikipedia and read it. Pol Pot, not the Khmer Rouge, was the problem. He and Vietnam didn't like each other from the get go because he wanted an armed struggle against Sihanouk while Vietnam didn't.
The Khmer communist party before Pol Pot was part of the Viet Minh in the fighting against the French. THAT WAS WHEN VIETNAM REALLY SUPPORTED IT.
After the the French surrendered at Dien Bien Phu and had to leave, France and Vietnam signed the Geneva Accords in 1954 in which they agreed that Laos and Cambodia would remain neutral. Sihanouk became the leader of Cambodia. Vietnam couldn't violate the Accords, so that' was why she didn't support the Khmer Rouge's armed resistance against him.
Following that, the Khmer communists were almost disbanded. That created a power vacuum that Pol Pot and his gangs who were Cambodians coming back from France gradually seized the leadership. He then asked for support from Vietnam to topple Sihanouk a few times but was refused every time. So there was no support for the KR from Vietnam here so that why he hated Vietnam so much.
Then Sihanouk, although officially neutral, passively allowed the VCs to build their bases in east Cambodia when the war in Vietnam started brewing up, so Vietnam had more reason not to disturb the status quo. In fact, because of that reason, The Saigon regime had tried to assassinate Sihanouk but failed.
So then the CIA supported Lon Nol to overthrow him in 1970. Right after that , Lon Non coordinated with the US and Saigon regime conducted a large scale operation into east Cambodia to destroy the VC bases.
This action then brought the Khmer Rouge and Vietnam together, but still they weren't really allies and you cannot blame Vietnam for this because the US-backed Lon Nol's coup and US bombing of Cambodia caused it! But still, The Vietnamese had also refused to give arms to Pol Pot when asked. They chose to fight the Lon Nol, Saigon regime and the US forces by themselves and handed some of the territories deeper inside Cambodia over to the Khmer Rouge as buffer zone while they held onto the area bordering Vietnam.
This friendliness, if you can call it that, didn't last long. By early 1972, relations between the Khmer Rouge and the Vietnamese were becoming strained and some violent clashes had broken out.
So for the whole time, Vietnam had only really supported the KR in the early 1950s. After 1954, their relation was mostly cold. The Vietnamese had tried to brought them back into their fold when it relative warmed up in 1970 because there was still some Vietnamese trained cadres left, But in 1973, Pol Pot ordered the internment of them and executed them all later. The relation become ice cold afterwards, so you can't say Vietnam supported the KR up until 1975. In fact, Pol Pot was mad at Vietnam the whole time exactly because she didn't supported him in overthrowing Sihanouk!
All your excerpts only show things happened in the relatively brief warm period of 1970. They aren't proof that Vietnam had supported the KR up until 1975.
Also in the mid 1960s, following Mao, Pol Pot denounced Khrushchev and went to China to study their communist way and inspired by China's Cultural Revolution. That period gave him the idea of how to create his utopia later.
He was incompatible with Vietnam in many way, and openly acted against Vietnam, so the idea of Vietnam supporting him is ludicrous
Again do read his bio on Wikipedia to learn some history before openlng y0ur m0uth!.

This guy Timothy Snyder is clearly a propagandist, not a historian because:
1. Just simply look at the titles of his books. They are simply propaganda, not history books.
2. He doesn't have the objectivity or honesty to be a historian. When Putin says 'Ukraine' isn't a real country', he just expresses his view of Ukraine in a historical context. That's just his view about a subject, not one of the reasons he attacks Ukraine, unlike the western colonialists who use the excuse that other people are barbarians and so as 'civilized people', they have the right and responsibility to take over their lands and rule over them.
3. Russians, Belorussians, and Ukrainians have the same root called Kievan Rus'; they can easily understand each other without a translator, and they all have been living there for over a thousand years, unlike the colonialists who sailed halfway around the world and conquered different peoples.
4. Putin isn't trying to subjugate Ukraine as the colonialists did. This war is a geopolitical war initiated by the US through its expansion of NATO all the way to the Russian border despite countless objections from Russia, deep meddling in Ukraine politics, overthrowing a democratically elected government and replacing it with a puppet one to further antagonize Russia. If the US didn't do that, none of this could have happened! The root cause is the US actions there.
5. Ukraine is under neo-colonial rule of the US, not Russia. Russia is only responding to that!
6. Russia and the Ukrainians living in the Donbas region have very legitimate grievances against the US and its puppet regime in Kiev here, but they're totally ignored by Snyder. He just makes up a fake reason to argue about instead, a straw man argument. So it's clear that he's a propagandist, not historian.

@mottscottison6943 Vietnam didn't need the USSR's support to beat the Khmer Rouge. Cambodia isn't the US you |d]ot! Vietnam forces exterminated the Khmer Rouge's forces inside Cambodia in two weeks. They had stayed there for 10 years because China and the US had supported Pol Pot's seat in the UN for most of that time. If Vietnam left right away, China and the US would back Pol Pot to come back so everything would be wasted. I've said so in the previous post you br|ch head. The USSR dissolved in 1991, Vietnam had the withdrawal plan inplace in 1985, executed it immediately and finished the whole thing in 1989 when she was sure the new Cambodian government had become strong enough to stay in power and subdue the Khmer Rouge, so that was all done two years before the collapse of the USSR. No, the stupid Khmer Rouge was wrong the whole time, and you don't know $h1t! No, that's not a real cause. China didn't even care about 300,000 Chinese in Cambodia slaughtered by the genocidal Pol Pot's regime, or 20,000 young men it burnt at the border so why would it care about a few thousands Hmongs?! You have any brain in your skull?
Vietnam didn't attack anybody for the USSR; China attacked Vietnam for the US, so China is a dog, not Vietnam.
What did Vietnam do today that makes you say Vietnam is a US' dog? You're bar kin' nonsense like a dog here.

China never forgets she's the victim of Japan and western's aggression but now she starts acting like them! You can easily draw parallels between Japan in the past and China today. In the first half of 20th century, Japan became really strong after decades of successful economic development. Instead of helping and leading her neighbors to develop and progress like herself, she started grabbing territories left and right. China now is acting like that. After some decades of successful economic development, China also starts bullying her neighbors. She claims the WHOLE SCS as her private property! If I remember correctly, this claim is unprecedented anywhere in the world. No country has ever had such a ridiculous claim. They may claim this and that island but never a WHOLE sea!
The basis of the claim is so ridiculous! It's essentially like this: the islands in the SCS appear in ancient Chinese literature, therefore the WHOLE SCS belongs to China! Even Japan in the 1930s couldn't be so ridiculous!
There are other peoples probably living around that sea for tens of thousands of years, naming those islands and and fishing in that sea so why are they excluded?!
If the basis of the claim is naming those islands in Chinese literature and fishing in that sea two thousand years ago, why does China not draw some other lines that encompass the WHOLE East China Sea and Yellow Sea too?! WHY?! Has China never named the islands in those seas and fished in them?!
That ridiculous claim only appeared in 1947 by Chiang Kai-shek's government. At that time, China has just got over foreign domination but she already turned imperialistic and the easy targets are the weaker neighbors in the South so that's how this come about.
As being communist, the CCP should have been against that ridiculous claim which was invented by those imperialistic minds of the capitalist Republic of China from day one, but no, it's just gone along and fully complicit in this criminal act!
If China plays fair and makes peace with her neighbors, the western imperialists wouldn't have a chance! But no, she must shoot herself in the foot like Japan in the past. Back then many Asian countries, China included, looked up to Japan and wanted to be successful like her but Japan shot herself in the foot by attacking her neighbors and become the common enemy of East and South East Asia. China now is just imitating Japan while denouncing her actions in the past! LOL!
The US and its western lackeys are a bunch of thugs who have been plundering and bullying Asia and other parts of the world for many centuries now and on the decline. This is the chance for not only China but the whole Asia to get back to its glory, but China's not helping. Instead of making peace with her neighbors, she bullies them and gives the westerners excuses to jump in and block her advancement!
Imagine with the intelligence and work ethic of Asians, if South, East, and South East Asia unite, the westerners wouldn't stand a chance to pick on us, but no, China must stubbornly insist on something it can never occupy, a whole sea, and abandon other doable and good objectives!

@TheZevvy much of Tibet is flat, yes, but it’s not like Mongolia because it’s a 5000 meter high plateau. It’s hard to even breathe there if you’re not the natives! On the south and east side of it, there are two of the highest mountain ranges in all of Asia and the world. The terrain and environment are definitely many times more challenging than Dai Viet. Dali kingdom (Yunnan, China today) and Sichuan, have much worse terrains than Dai Viet too but they had fallen anyway. For Laos (Khmer empire back then) and Myanmar (Pagan back then), the Mongols must cross real, deep jungles that spanned many hundreds or thousands kilometers to get to the flat land where large populations lived but Dai Viet wasn’t the case. The Mongols on the shortest route from the Chinese border only needed to cross about 70 km of mountainous area to reach the flat land of the Red River Delta, and another 70 km to reach the capital city of Thang Long or Hanoi today. They had never had problem reaching and taking that capital city. Holding onto it and escaping Dai Viet were the problems. But it’s not the climate or weather like you imagined. They always purposefully chose to attack Dai Viet in the dead of winter of December or January. And yes, Dai Viet, which was the 1/3rd northern part of Vietnam today does have winter because it’s in subtropical region like adjacent Chinese provinces. There’s no tropical climate, so there was no jungle, nor hot weather, nor tropical diseases, and the Mongol invading forces were always defeated and ran home before summer set in! There’s really no excuse! They had simply defeated in battles and lost the war. It’s as simple as that so get over it! It’s not like they had never defeated elsewhere on the planet!

And these were the words coming out of the mouth of a Chinese leader in the highest office of China, Deng Xiaoping, to a US president, Jimmy Carter, when he visited the US in 1979, 'The little child is getting naughty, it's time he got spanked'. Do you happen to know if he's ever referred to any other country as a 'little child'?! He think he's not little? LOL!
These are just a few examples of what I've been observing throughout the years about Chinese attitude towards Vietnam. I'm not an extremist, very much aware of not going down that road. I'm not quick to judge anything. My conclusion comes from years of observation and learning history.
I don't watch or read western MSM about international matters unless it's for amusement purpose. With personal experiences of their lies against Vietnam and pretty much about anything else, I'm immune to the west's propaganda, so it cannot influence me in a million years.
All of what I told you has come straight from the mouths of Chinese media, scholar, general population and the highest political leader. Western media has nothing to do with that.

I'm sorry but just listening to your first few sentences, I found your understanding of this matter is fundamentally wrong. First, the war after 1955 wasn't a 'proxy war'. According to dictionary, 'proxy war' means 'a war instigated by a major power which does not itself become involved'. The US directly involved in that war, commanded its side from 1955 to 1973. Second, the war wasn't between North and South Vietnam but between the US and Vietnam. Those were the two leading/deciding actors of the war. Without one or the other, there would be no war. On the US side, there were the US, its lackeys like Australia, South Korea, and the Saigon regime. On the Vietnam side there were the DRV and the NLF. Third, the Saigon regime was an illegitimate regime created by the US in 1955. It wasn't recognized by most of the people in the south, so you cannot referring to it as 'South Vietnam' because it didn't have the authority or legitimacy to represent the South. It's just a puppet propped up by the US to use as an excuse for its intervention/aggression in Vietnam. Without the US, there would be no RVN and no war!

China never forgets and always portraits herself as the victim of Japan and western's aggression but now she starts acting like them!

Russia has become hostile to Ukraine because, among other reasons, the Kyiv regime turned hostile against Russia and wanted to join NATO (after the US-backed coup in 2014), so if Finland and Sweden join NATO which means choosing to become hostile to Russia, they only create problems that aren't there in the first place for themselves, just like Ukraine! What happens to Ukraine only proves Sweden and Finland have made the right choice all along! They have always been smart, never submitted themselves to the US to become another running dog even in the Cold War. So, why do they suddenly become so stupid?! What do they eat over there these days?
Joining NATO can only ensure their slavery under the US and, their becoming of targets for Russian nukes, their countries' total destruction once a war breaks out between NATO and Russia, at the least, because of their proximity to Russia! They'll become the US' frontline cannon fodders just like Ukraine right now! The US is always willing to sacrifice its 'allies' to annoy and wear down their opponents, but it can never protect them from the other side of the second largest ocean in the world!

@vascotank2143 Giving food and shelter for the Khmer Rouge to live and fight for another 10 years and backed it at the UN IS a tremendous help. You can't deny it with a lame excuse of 'humanitarian'! Since when the racist, genocidal, murderous government of US cares about civilians or humanitarian, especially in South East Asia?! It dropped half a million tons of bombs on Cambodia and directly killed hundreds of thousands Cambodians in the early 1970s. It put economic sanctions on Cambodia to starve the WHOLE population after Vietnam liberated it just to give Vietnam a hard time. The Khmer Rouge killed millions Cambodians and it continued to support it seats in the UN, not to mention millions of Vietnamese killed by its bombs and massacres. SO, it clearly never gives a fick about civilians, but only used them as a front to house and feed the Khmer Rouge. That's the real story. Yours is just stupid propaganda. Don't bring China in here to cover for US' crimes. We all agree that China helped Pol Pot, but it can't order and fund Thailand to shelter the Khmer Rouge, only the US can, because Thailand was a US' dog. As the host country, Thailand can easily screen the refugees and separate the Khmer Rouge's fighting forces from women and children and take away all the weapons, but it didn't, because the US wanted to feed and house the Khmer Rouge so they can fight Vietnam for it! The Khmer Rouge had no where else to go. BTW, the Khmer Rouge ambush tactics was trained by the SAS of the UK, not China.

@お握り-z2x The people whose died in those containers weren't 'fleeing'. They went to western Europe to joint the lucrative drug trade over there (because capitalist countries tolerate drug trade) and would go back to Vietnam in a few months filthy rich! They owned houses and lands in Vietnam and got a lot of money to pay for their illegal trips to Europe so they're not poor. They just wanted to make quick and large sums of cash. They died because of western capitalism and their greedy capitalist thinking, not by socialism. You can only lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink!
Vietnam cannot build socialism in a vacuum, by herself. The US had done everything it could to destroy the socialist bloc, and put a total economic sanction on Vietnam for 20 years. When it lifted it in 1995, the socialist bloc had long gone and Vietnam was forced to change in order to trade with a new world that's totally controlled by the US, as once condition. So the change was forced by capitalism, not that they lied to the people, so blame capitalism. And if Vietnam isn't socialist anymore, why are you still Bltchg?!!!
The US too can't take care of its own citizens and yet it always has so much abundant money to build mass killing machines and starts senseless wars to 'bring freedom and democracy' to every corner of the world by mass murdering people. You should have problems with that!
Vietnam has not yet been able to take care of all of her citizens because she's wasted 20 years in wars with western capitalist nut jobs and was put under 20 years of inhuman economic sanction by western capitalist nut jobs after that. And in fact, she's still recovering from the damages done by western capitalist nut jobs as we speak! A few days ago, they just found a made in the good ol USA 750lb bomb laying in the ground in the middle of Hanoi, still waiting to explode and mass murder people even after 45 years. So, if you have a brain, you should have problems with western capitalist nut jobs, not with Vietnam.
Look up 'Operation Passage to Freedom'. It was an CIA-direct operation to lure Roman Catholics in the North to the South to create a political base for Ngo Dinh Diem because the southerners didn't even know who the fob he was at that point! Yes, they're mostly brainwashed Catholics who thought the white men were their real brothers because they all worship Jesus. They were traitors who supported the French so of course they fled south with the French! What's the problem here?!
The Geneva Accords allows free movements in two years awaiting general election. It doesn't force anybody to move if they don't want to. So the communists in the south have every right to stay because the south is their home!
Diem only made up, exaggerated stories to justify his mass murder of communists in the south. The people killed in the Land Reform in the north were landlords who mistreated, murdered peasants under French rule. They served the French and commit crimes against the population, so many of them deserved it. They would face much worse fate if they were in France during its revolution! The communists was too lenient! The DRV's government didn't condone it. It did intervened and stopped the killing and that's why it's still widely supported.
Not only Diem had no good reasons to killed communists in the south, but in fact, he totally owed his president chair to the communists. If they didn't kicked the French out, the Americans had no reasons and couldn't bring him back to take Bao Dai's chair when he's still backed by the French! What a ficking ingrate!
Unlike Ho Chi Minh, he had no support in the south among the population or even among his own subordinates. They were just scared of his brutal tactics and waited for a chance to kill him! That's why it only took them two days to overthrow, and execute him and his brother like two stray dogs!
The Vietnamese has made their easy and proper choice between a clueless psychotic dictator and a man who led them to independence. It's a no brainer. Only tools with no brain like you would see otherwise or question it!

@kitschchauvinismus_9394 China has never officially announced whether that line is meant only for those islands or the whole SCS but Chinese officials have implied or asserted that it's meant for the WHOLE SCS. China has been teaching school children to believe it's Chinese property, so apparently China is using 'salami tactics' here. Even China knows that if it goes all out at once, it would be totally illegal and undo-able so it's trying to eat it bit by bit. But it can't never fool the world!
No, the line in the SCS was first drawn in 1935 when China was much weaker than Japan, so drawing a similar line in the East China Sea would mean China asking for a smackdown from Japan. That's why it didn't do that. China always think it can pick on its southern neighbors that's why it drew that line. If Japan and Russia is situated at Vietnam and the Philippines' locations, China would never dare to draw it! LOL!
Throughout history, China has a reputation of cowering against stronger countries but loving to pick on weaker ones while thinking it's the center of the universe! LOL! That's the despicable nature of China.
Instead of fighting the northern countries when attacked, China chose to build long and big walls to hide. At the exact same time, it turned around and picked on weaker kingdoms south of the Yangtze, expanding west and south. It would never dare to pick on Japan even when being attacked by Japan!
Russia took a big chunk of China, stopped China from eating Mongolia, but China only knew to cower and gave it all up, and turned around trying to act tough in front of its southern and western neighbors!
In recent history and up until now, it has been continuing on that same path, trying to bully even more countries in the south by claiming the whole SCS.
Those islands may have unclear owners but they certainly don't belong to China because they have never appeared on official Chinese map until 1947!
You just can't argue about this because China is clearly in the wrong and the source of problems in East Asia right now!

@ThatAirplaneGuy2000 The draft didn't start until December 1969, over 4 years into the war, and many went for 2, 3 tours, so there were plenty of brainwashed tools did believe the idiotic propaganda line of 'I'll fight the commies there so I don't have to fight them on the street of San Francisco'. There're still plenty of them now believe the war was necessary too, so you just don't need and can't deny at least the majority was brainwashed! Even many of the draftees believe they did something good too because they just plain stupid and brainwashed! The atrocities was the rule, not the exception. Back then, the US was just like the Nazis on occupied lands. If some of them got killed, their rule was to take it on the population. From the higher up, they pressured the officers with a certain number of enemy killed, so the officers forced the foot soldiers to kill indiscriminately to meet those numbers. The presidents knew it but it was what they wanted to do too because that was their way. They wanted to terrorize the population into submission. They are the mother of ALL terrorism.

It's really stupid when you don't like somebody's comments, he/she must be a democrat to you. He specifically said the US' problems were caused by other countries' unfair trade with the US so although he denied blaming other countries, clearly, he did blame them all the same.
Capitalism is buy low and sell high to get the largest profit margin you can so when the American capitalists move their factories out of the US in order to do exactly that, why is that any government's fault?! Unless Trump's a socialist, he can bitch about that, but he's not, so he's lame.
Free trade means buyer and seller freely buy and sell on their own free will. Americans have been buying more from other countries because US' goods are 10 times more expensive than let say...China's. Other countries don't forbid their citizens from buying US' goods! They don't buy because many different reasons like US' goods are too expensive to them, or in the case of Japan, not as good as theirs. So when Trump tries forcing people from other countries buy US' goods that they don't want, pressuring Japan to open more car factories in the US against their will and hurt their profits, that's forced trade and robbing, not free trade!

China shoots herself in the foot by insisting on her aggressive territorial claims against her neighbors. The greed has consumed her just like the US. The whole vast swathes of land below the Yangtze River weren't China's originally. It belonged to peoples who aren't Han Chinese. After conquering it, Han Chinese moved in and assimilated everybody and adsorbed the whole region. Manchuria, part of Mongolia, Xinjiang, Tibet, and Yunnan, all very big areas also were consumed by China. That's how China becomes that big today but still she doesn't satisfy! She continues her quest to expand even more southward by claiming the whole SCS!
In colonial time, western European powers grabbed lands left, right and around the world, even attacked China herself and forced her to concede territories. China has justifiably been crying foul over their thuggish behaviors since then but she in turn, has been behaving in much the same way! The ridiculous eleven dash line in the SCS is one example in recent history. It only appeared in 1947 under Chiang kai shek, right after WWII when China also claimed to be a victim of Japanese aggression! Before that, the southern most point of China has always been Hainan island. China shamelessly only recognizes aggression committed against her, not by her! China just loves to play victims but unabashedly ignore her victims!
If she wants to fight against the US' aggression, she must have her neighbors' supports, but her aggressive territorial claims certainly won't help! She stubbornly just won't recognize her own aggression against her neighbors! She's actually giving the US a very good excuse to intervene in the region therefore shooting herself in the foot!

@陈陳-t5c What exactly is the part of my statements not true?
What exactly makes you think Mao was sincere?! LOL! You could only know that if you were Mao himself! But the imperialist thinking has been engrained in the Chinese mind for millennia, so I have a BIG doubt about Chinese sincerity in any era. The only thing you can be sure about China is its humongous greed!
Mao helped because of his experience with the Korean War. He just didn't want another US' client state at China's border. If the US invaded N Vietnam, China had to bring in some millions combat troops and would have spent and died A LOT MORE. So that's why he 'helped', not because he cared about Vietnam more than the USSR! Russia erased 8 billions USD that Vietnam owed her during Soviet time with nothing attached. Now that's 'help'.
You're talking as if the Chinese single handedly defeat the US for Vietnam! LOL! You see? You Chanks are just full of yourselves! That's the problem!
Vietnam lost millions in the war but here you are bragging about 1000 dead Chinese! LOL! One single US' dog, S Korea, already had 5 times more dead and more than twice injured than you Chanks! S Korea had over 300,000 participated too but all in combat operations. So you Chanks were even below S Korea in the level of importance in term of human resources!
In term of financial 'help', the US had spent 1 trillions in today dollar but here you are bragging about China's $20 billions! And whatever China 'helped', not only did it took all back, it also took from Vietnam much more when it destroyed them all in the decade long war at the border in 1979, by its support of Pol Pot in his war against Vietnam, its robbing of Vietnam's islands, its economic and diplomatic isolation of Vietnam and Cambodia one decade after 1978. So actually, China owes a lot from Vietnam, not the other way around!
Vietnam had a very bad experience when Chinese got involved in the battle of Dien Bien Phu and the following Geneva Conference in 1954, so she didn't allow them to do so in the war with the US. The only thing Chinese WERE ALLOWED to do in that war were building and maintaining infrastructures at the areas near the border and defending them. They were forbidden to participate in any ground combat and air defense deep inside Vietnam, so many of your numbers and stories about combat are fake or exaggerated!

@陈陳-t5c Learn to read!
First, that $20 billion was to save China from much more deaths and financial loss if the US invaded N Vietnam. It's not because China has good will toward Vietnam! If it does, it wouldn't have robbed Vietnam of her islands, attacked her for 10 years at the border, supported Pol Pot who invaded and massacred Viets!
Second, China destroyed all of the infrastructure it built during the Vietnam War when it invaded Vietnam in 1979, robbed islands from Vietnam, supported Pol Pot to attacked Vietnam, got into bed with the US and continued to support him after he was deposed by Vietnam and isolate Vietnam and the non-Pol Pot Cambodia, so China did much more damage to Vietnam than it 'helped', so you should s tf u about China's 'help'!

@emanuelneagu14 No, replying to a comment without understand the context like you just did is plain stupid. Look at the title of the clip on top. It said 'the US' narrative about a 'bad China' collapses'. So they try to convince people that China isn't bad! My original comment was a response to that. I let people judge on their own. If there are really no good or bad countries like you said, why must you bother to correct me?! Why tf does China need to build a whole network of channels across platforms trying to disprove what the west says about it?! China's vigorous response to western accusations and your response to my comment have proven that indeed there are good and bad countries! And China is desperately trying to prove it's the good one if not the best! LOL! You're using a fallacy called 'generalization' here. It's the same as saying There are no good or bad people! Do you actually believe that? You're either too stupid to know better or you're intentionally trying to BS your way through here. If what you said is true, why tf did China establish a social credit system to reward good people and punish bad ones? If you say so, a judge in any court must have the same level of moral conscience as the criminals he is judging! And why tf must societies bother to have very complex judiciary systems to sort out the innocents, the not so bad and the worst criminals to give them freedom or proper punishments?! Countries are the same. If one is generally doesn't hurt or rob others, they are good, otherwise, it's bad. Depends on the scale and scope, it can be judged further. China's aiding of the Pol Pot regime which mass murdered over two millions people including its own expat Chinese is not only bad, but pure evil because no other has done the same! No decent human being or country can support a genocidal regime let alone supported it to mass murder their own kind!

"If it's just items that are replaceable, just let them take what they need to take"! Fkg unbelievable!!! LOL! It's just so easy for a clown who sits there on his high horse in the comfort of his house to lecture people to just let criminals take whatever they want from them, isn't it?! The level of stupidity here is really deep! First, who's gonna replace those lost items if he listens to you? You the clown?! Second, those robbers don't have any 'need' to take anybody's property but the owner has every right and need to secure his life and livelihood here. If he just let them take everything they 'need', at best, he could have to close his business soon. At worst, his life could have ended right there and then anyway. Third, nobody knows for sure if the robbers would've or wouldn't have shot him dead after jumping the counter to rob stuff on the shelves so who's gonna resurrect him if he ends up dead because of listening to you? You the clown again?! Everybody knows cops who are armed to their teeth, in numbers, wouldn't have taken that chance. They would have shot them dead the very moment they fail to comply but here you are expecting an outnumbered civilian with only a small knife in his hand to go easy on these criminals?!

@janusjones6519 Using Korea to speculate about Vietnam is really stupid! So what about Afghanistan?! Did the Taliban need Chinese help to wear down the US and outlast it? Didn't the US absolutely control the air in Afghanistan, a lot more so than in Vietnam?! LOL!
And Korea and Vietnam War are very different.
First, N Korea directly crossed the 38th parallel and attacked the South in the first place so the US could argue that N Korea started the war and was the aggressor so it could obtain the UN's mandate and went all in.
In Vietnam's case, N Vietnam didn't cross the 17th parallel and start an all out war against the Saigon regime in the first place, so the US' involvement didn't have a UN's mandate. US troops had illegally entered S Vietnam, it's hard to push it any further
Second, even if the US ignored all the laws, it still couldn't invade the North from the beginning or any other period. Because, in Korea's case, the Seoul regime had successfully established control over the whole South Korea before the war, so when the US went north later, it didn't have to worry about the rear. In Vietnam's case, throughout the war, the US and Saigon regime could only control the cities and big towns in the South, the rest was either in the hand of the NLF or heavily contested, so how could it go north with its rear widely exposed?! N Korea was beat back because it got its rear exposed at Inchon, do you know about that?
AND, Not only the Saigon regime couldn't gain control over the rural area, but it also really weak. If the US wasn't there right by its side, it wouldn't have any control anywhere! It was about to collapse all by itself in 1964 if US' forces didn't jump in to hold it up with both hands! The whole time being present there, the US was trying to keep it afloat and pacify the South but couldn't succeed, so how could it go anywhere else?! In another word, the US didn't even successfully invade S Vietnam, how t f could it invade the North?! You think you're smarter than the US' elite who ran the show at the time?! You think they didn't think about that or wanted to lose on purpose?! LOL!

@Loulovesspeed You are using a fallacy called 'bandwagon fallacy'. You just believe something is true because other people also believe it, not because you yourself have the relevant facts, evident and logic to support it! Using your dim reasoning, the world must be flat in ancient time because everybody in that time believe it was! LOL! Don't you have a brain of your own? Why do you have to depend on the belief of 'countless others' to support your point?! That proves you are just brainwashed into believing something that you yourself can't prove! Did you read their Le Mans history? If so, why don't you use it to prove Ford was the underdog? You're a Ferrari hater because you said I'm a Ford hater. And that was another fallacy (Ad Hominem) that you used. When you lose the argument, you turn and attack me personally! Why must I be a Ford hater while you're not a Ferrari hater?! You're so lame! LOL! When you don't have any decent facts, evidence, and logic to support your view of Ford being the underdog but keep on saying so to glorify Ford, you're definitely an @$$ kisser of Ford and a Ferrari hater. You are the one with all the B.S, no facts, evidence and logic here.

Generally, Europeans are more sophisticated than Americans to me, so it's strange that they've been content to be under the US' thumb since after WWII. First, it was western Europe and the rest after the fall of the USSR.
Anybody who has a brain to observe can easily see that the US' game is to keep the rest of the world, including its so-called 'allies', down, so it can stay on top forever. Even Hastings Ismay, a NATO's Secretary General, has openly said that the purpose of NATO was 'to keep the Russians out, the Americans in, and the Germans down'!
If Europe and Russia work together and build their respective economies up, they would have surpassed the US for a long time, but NO! Europe must choose to play the role of a loyal dog to the US to antagonize Russia and sabotage its own economy in the process!
Heck, Germany can't even build a pipeline with Russia without asking permission from the US! Really? WTF is going on with the Germans?!
The US has learned from WWI and II that wars and tensions around the world are always beneficial to it! The two largest oceans in the world would completely shield it from any harm. No war can spill over, no refugees to take care of no matter what! So it continues its way of destroying the world and letting somebody else suffer and take care of the problems later.
Europe has been complicit in the US' criminal acts in the middle east and north Africa, but only the US could rip the rewards. Europe is left with a flood of refugees from those areas, waves of revenge bombings, and watching its own culture crumble. But still, it seems to be happy as ever as a US tool! Unbelievable!

@max25i67 That's just what you say! Reality is the other way around! Communism was born out of capitalism because of capitalism's inherently undemocratic nature. You 'haven't reached that stage yet'?! What a complete t00l! LMAO! Capitalism ALWAYS is a dictatorship because naturally the ultra-rich class who controls the economy and owns everything also holds political power. You can never have the same political power as your owner!
In a capitalist country like the US, the bank owns your @$$, your government @$$, and the media. Have you ever seen the ultra-rich people have to walk the street protesting to have their way?! Because if they want anything, all they need to do is tell their servants from the government down to you, do it or they will spank your @$$! LOL! For instance, if they want a war, the government and media will work their ass off to make it happen, and YOU will have to die for it! On the other hand, if the common people want to stop a war, they must have to walk the street, turn the country upside down, get shot to death, then they just may have a tiny chance!

Well, if you know history, you should know that the USSR had helped China a lot before, during and after WWII. For instance, they had spilled a lot of blood and singlehandedly defeated the Japanese Kwantung Army and handed the whole freaking Manchuria back to China. Russia and China had even been ideological comrades, but China got into bed with the supposedly common imperialist enemy, the US, and backstabbed its comrade anyway just for some freaking cheap dollars and recognitions. Today in China, from top leaders down to the common people, they don't see anything wrong with that. In fact, Deng Xiaoping is revered in China precisely for that treacherous move. They only see that as common international politics, not betrayal. There's nothing snaky about it. They would say there's no friend nor enemy, only interests if you ask them. Heck, they even blame the Russians for their backstabbing of Russia. So what should stop Russia today to do the same?! Why shouldn't Russia let China taste its own medicine?! I say if the US give Russia a good enough deal, she should go for it. The question here is not if Russia should gang up with the US against China but what the US is ready to pay for that.

So now I know where this comes from! It's the same old white man racism. If you don't wanna get kicked in the face, maybe you shouldn't signup to be a stuntman in any martial arts series or movie. But no, it's white men having white privilege, so they signed up to be stuntmen in a martial arts series, but they didn't wanna get kicked in the face, especially by an Asian. That's, of course, very 'disrespectful'! And Lee was supposed to be 'unprofessional' when it was the white men who refused to do their job which was getting kicked in the face for a living as stuntmen! LOL! Then Tarantino, as a fellow white man, can easily feel the pain so he sees the need to depict Bruce Lee as a cocky, disrespectful @sshole in his movie! But in the end, he can only project himself into Lee's character. You can only see Tarantino in that character! It's the kind of man who tells everybody to 'go suck a d! ck' when they disagree with him. The kind of man who thinks it's necessary to assassinate another man's character after he's long dead! And yes, that's very respectful according to his white man standard!

@kitschchauvinismus_9394 China has never owned those islands in history so it's not 'historical problems'! It's the problems existing right now as we speak. And it's not 'mainly islands', it's the whole SCS! No country in the whole history of the world has ever had a ridiculous claim like that! Yes, everybody has reasons, but China's are beyond ridiculous! That's the problem.
China probably named the islands in the East China Sea and Yellow Sea even earlier than those in the SCS, but why it didn't draw a line reaching out thousands of miles encompassing those seas too?!
While at it, why didn't China also draw a line around the Moon, claim it and all the space between because Chinese also named the Moon and have been looking at it since long before it could draw a map?! LMAO!
Vietnam had existed as an independent kingdom long before China annexed it over 2000 years ago, so why does your history only start after China's annexation?! On top of that, the southern part of Vietnam has never been part of China, so how can China have any right over its sea and islands?! See? The problem with you Chinese is you are always full of yourselves, even more so than the westerners!

@ThatAirplaneGuy2000 , Yes, they were. Not only they've got brainwashed back then, when they were just fresh out of high school, but they are still now because they keeps asking stupid questions like why the Vietnamese kept on fighting back then! Vietnam or Vietnamese, communist or not, then and now, in no way, shape or form, could be a threat to the US but US soldiers or what not, young and old, were brainwashed into thinking they were an extremely dangerous to the point Americans needed to swim half way around the world to kill them!
Not everybody got brainwashed back then, like Clinton, Bush Jr., Trump, or Muhammad Ali and a lot of others will do anything to avoid going there. 'Just follow orders' is a very lame excuse. You're a human with developed brain to know right from wrong. If your leader tell you to rape a child, will you just follow the order? After WWII, many Nazis did use the 'just follow orders' excuse at the Nuremberg trials and it wouldn't cut it and they were hung anyway, so just save it!

There has never been a 'communist country' in the world nor has the government any of those countries you mentioned claimed theirs a 'communist country'. Most on your list are led by a communist party, and that doesn't make them a 'communist country' by default. Those governments only claim to built a socialist country. They're still building it and never say when would they have it! North Korea has a different ideology, not communism. The fact that you keep mentioning about them as 'communist countries' under a negative light, something below you, shows that you are also brainwashed and grown under another mind control regime, a capitalist one. So, you are not any freer than any of those in China. You said that they are taught to hate Japan and the West but as a matter of fact, westerners also are taught to hate China, communism, and look down on the rest of the world.
To be fair, China is petty when it keeps teaching its children to hate Japan that much, but it has some very good reasons to hate the West because of history and what's been going on ever since. The West is ridiculously unreasonable when it keeps teaching its children like you to hate a ghost call 'communism' when that thing has never been materialized anywhere on earth and no once has ever claimed they have something like that!

China never forgets she's the victim of Japan and western's aggression but now she starts acting like them! You can easily draw parallels between Japan in the past and China today. In the first half of 20th century, Japan became really strong after decades of successful economic development. Instead of helping and leading its neighbors to develop and progress like herself, she started grabbing territories left and right. China now is acting like that. After some decades of successful economic development, China also starts bullying her neighbors. She claims the WHOLE SCS as her private property! If I remember correctly, this claim is unprecedented any where in the world. No country has ever had such a ridiculous claim like that.
At that time, China has just got over foreign domination and she already turned imperialistic and the easy targets are the weaker neighbors in the South.

@ornchao2561 In this China-Vietnam story, Vietnam definitely IS the good guy. This video clip doesn't concern Vietnam-Cambodia relation so you're way off topic. Nevertheless, YES, Vietnam did take Cambodian land but that had happened only once for the whole 1000 years of history of Vietnam after regaining independence from China. On the other hand, China has never stopped trying to take Vietnam throughout history, if not all at once then bit by bit. And you should remember that the area of land Vietnam took in the last 1000 years is tiny and insignificant compare to what China took in the same period. So if you say Vietnam is bad because of that, China is undeniably much worse.
It's very hard for Vietnam to defend herself from China's onslaught if she doesn't have the southern part today because China keeps growing bigger and bigger over that period. On the contrary, China has no excuse to take those lands. It's just pure greed!
And be careful what you wish for! In history, when China wasn't even this big, it had expanded up to the central part of Vietnam today. If Vietnam didn't kicked it out over 1000 years ago and stopped the flood, there might be no Cambodia today whatsoever because when China takes, it just doesn't stop in the middle like Vietnam did.
And China just hates Vietnam for stopping it so it always likes to back those Cambodian factions who are stupid like you to get back at Vietnam. Therefore, you're just a Chinese tool. And if you gang up with China to take down Vietnam, you're actually trying to destroy the very force that can protect you from the Chinese onslaught! So, don't be stupid!

@ornchao2561 Vietnam's history started 1000 years before being annexed by Han. Vietnam regained independence in 939 CE, not 15th century, you id. iot! Why are you trying to teach Vietnam's history to me?! It has no relevant to the topic here. You're just wandering all over the place. I'll summarize your points here. Read and get over with already:
1. You said Vietnam isn't a victim because Vietnam took Cambodian land right? If so, Cambodia can't also be a victim because it had attacked Vietnam even before that trying to annex Vietnam but failed. Cambodia was still the one who drew the first blood so it's STILL wrong here. It just lost at the end so stop talking as if it's a poor innocent victim.
2. You're talking as if China's protecting Cambodia from Vietnam. Totally wrong! China has never given a cr. .ap about Cambodia. It didn't even care about 300,000 Chinese murdered by Pol Pot, or 20,000 Chinese died at its border with Vietnam, so what makes you think it would give a f about Cambodia?! LOL! China attacked Vietnam because it was butthurt from being rejected. Because it's a sore loser! That's all. If Cambodia was situated right next to China like North Vietnam, it would have been disappeared. The opposite is true, Vietnam has been protecting the Chinese onslaught down the Indochina peninsula since 1000 CE. In fact, Vietnam has saved Cambodia from a China's backed regime! You wouldn't have a chance to sit here and b |tch about Vietnam if she didn't cross the border to save you from China's tools! Right?

Craftingphil, if you have a brain, you should know that 'freedom' or 'democracy' are just new and lame excuses for new attempts to intervene and rob those lands yet again. In the past, they used the excuse of 'liberating' or 'reclaiming' the 'Holy Land' to rob that land and all those lands along the way. In colonial time, they used the excuse of bringing Christianity and civilization to all corners of the world, again, to rob. In our time, the slogans for robbing are 'freedom' and 'democracy'. There's one thing in common then and now. All those places are much worse off after the west's 'noble' crusades. There's no good ending when the west start saying they care about someplace! If you don't know history, you can still at least remember Iraq, Libya, or Syria, right? So from now on, you should shut the crap about 'freedom' or 'democracy'. Whatever they have right now, it's a million times better than when the west had its way! Moreover, are you sure the west really have that thing call 'democracy' or 'freedom' there?
