A British company but designed and made in their Zetland Sydney factory. Only sold in Australia and New Zealand.

This likely to be done in the Thursday, Friday or Saturday. That is why you did not see it on our Sunday Livestream.

@IWrocker No native deer but herds grew from some deliberately introduced for sport hunting in the 1860s before we knew better ,: https://youtu.be/Ej4CzKTmMb8 Cause quite a bit of damage like most introduced species and would not happen again. Some think they are native or like to hunt them so do not want them eradicated.

Lots spent on suburban and regional rail in Victoria , but to little effect. Just being largely used by highly paid city workers in banking. Legal services and insurance. Well above average workers getting high subsidies with taxpayers paying 80% of the operating costs that are not covered by the fare revenue. Only about 15% of travel but needing three million dollars a day from taxpayers. Meanwhile roads that serve all the dispersed non CBD destinations that people are travelling too in the biggest numbers are poorly funded or taken away from cars for use by cyclists as a playground. I might get complaints about these points from people wanting a free lunch believing the government can pay when it is really taxpayers. Would be less of an issue if transit users paid for the operating costs like car users do through high taxes on petrol, fines and toll etc. And some wonder why petrol in Australia is taxed so highly.

@AustralianLightsAndSirens your channel would have to be close to the go to resource for the answers though. Gave Ian a few links to your site to give a definite picture.

Italian Pininfarina design from the early sixties based on his Ferrari California styling.

Perhaps an even bigger reason was to access all those cheap Japanese right hand drive cars that become surplus to Japan after a few years due to very strict roadworthy requirements after even a few years. Aimed at keeping the local car makers and so the Japanese economy healthy. American Somoa would have seen nearby New Zealand doing that with Japanese imports

Must be lucky where I live. Had many a weekday Bunnings sausage sizzle served up by local charities in Victoria. Queensland just catching up as usual.

Subtitles said Back at bastards

Lots of the media principle of "Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story". In this stuff.

In the 1940s the thirty odd years old Aston Martin sports car company were close to closing. David Brown of David Brown tractors bought the company. From then on all new Aston Martin cars were prefixed by the DB initials of the new owner. Some of the Aston Era tractors : https://youtu.be/tRytt3UOTCs Also little known is the fact that Lamborghini started as a tractor company. Part of the story why they made the cars from Jay Leno : https://youtu.be/-wjL7lDtxW8 For a quite a few years they made both tractors and the GT cars.

Much earlier the first Downyflake Donut restaurant opened in Melbourne’s Swanston Street in 1950. Their “American Donut Machine” was a source of fascination as the donuts were extruded, floated around in their bath of hot fat, and were automatically flipped, drained and tossed hot into sugar and spice. Downyflake outlets also opened in other major shopping centres and interstate. A treat for kids for years was to stand in front of the store and watch them being made behind the front window of the store. Back when families would visit the CBD.

@jimspink2922 I think that was NSW only. Never happened in Victoria. But it was the time when a huge number of safety measures we introduced. Victorian compulsory seat belt wearing the first in the world and most effective measure. Few would argue against now.

This one was his. Actually given to him by Ford Mo Co and then air freighted in to Australia. Moff was in tears when he heard the news. Ford saw a commercial advantage to Australian sales for one of these very special Kar Kraft cars racing in Australia rather than just being another on the grid on Trans Am for a lower rated US driver. The US driver who was supposed to get it was not happy, so the story goes. But Ford were paying for these very special , but semi standard looking, cars

Holiday in Bali. So close to Australia and tourist oriented that often much cheaper to have holidays there than in Australian resorts. Especially the snow skiing resorts. Very popular along with Thailand.
3
And for the booming SUV market GM forced Holden to use the Daewoo Captiva called the Craptiva here for some reason. Mistakes piled on mistakes. Many more.

Sounds like the widespread scam using fake Telegram accounts. Faking successful YouTube channels. Do not respond to but report them.

The Maslan map at 4:37 is all made up from his guesses since no Europeans that he would have communicated with had been to the vast majority of the area he imagined had water sources any non desert vegetation. Just laughable compared to the reality even in 1833. Most very difficult to explore without planes or very good motor vehicles. In the 1860s the huge Burke and Wills expedition to travel inland from Melbourne to Darwin had them die from the conditions they were not expecting from lack of water

I think the last new Holden anything for sale was 2021. A total crash and burn unlike Ford which has the Ranger being top seller in recent months with Toyota having supply issues and years long waiting times for in demand models.
3
And when he does not understand he goes to the effort of finding out and listening to advice to help out.

Just paid $4.90 for the cheapest 12 700g eggs today in Melbourne.

@BassMatt1972 check the tail lights of this vid about 6 minutes in of the MG midget and Austin Healey Sprite shared body cars : https://youtu.be/Jmwg_7SwslM

Weekly news items in Australia of problems with newish homes and flats destroying families with the problems from deregulated home building. Getting worse with predictions of 50% of building companies forecast to go bust with materials, prices and skilled worker shortages.
3
The Maslan map was his fictional ideas at 4:37.

Missed from all these comments is the US Falcon Sprint at 1:37. In the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally the Falcon was fastest on every stage but the anti big engine handicap system made sure the Falcons could not win. So a rally system where the fastest car may not win. A recent vid staged recreation of the event had a Mini Cooper pass the leading Falcon which never happened in the event. So creating fake history for those that preferred it. The real winning move was paper calculations to discount the Falcon Sprint times. Not so exciting way to win a rally.
3
It was a real running car driving on Melbourne and Detroit roads for display and publicity purposes. Just a one off hand built car though. I think you mean it should have been put into production.
3
Chev badge at 2:25 on a Holden never factory fitted , even to the early and late model Holden's that did have US Chev motors ad an option. A controversy here.

Might be a regional thing. In Victoria it's Togs or Bathers but rare to here swimmers. Swimmers more a Sydney thing.

The 265 Hemi six was only raced in the two door Charger body from 1971 onwards that I have ever seen any reference to. Not counting the secret VF ute development mule for camoflauged testing of the Charger running gear. Geoghan doing the testing said it worked better than the Charger being lighter.

The US had the first colour TV broadcasts in June 1951. However it was s near disaster as TV manufacturers did not like the system used and mostly did not make the expensive sets. So only tiny numbers saw these broadcasts. The huge majority of people could not even see the system on their incompatible black and white sets. Took until later in the fifties for a better system to develop and become the US standard and be more widely adopted. Australia was late to colour as they wanted to adopt the very best system available rather than the low quality pioneering system that the US got stuck with. By 1975 colour TV sets were much more affordable in real terms than the first B&W here from 1956. Same for TV companies buying cameras etc for colour. So some benefits of waiting.

The first eighties Holden Barina was a re badged Suzuki Swift that built up a good reputation that went downhill each time Holden changed the Barina sourcing company design. Rapidly with Daewoo.

Just search YouTube for Bathurst 1971 Or any other year of interest back to 1938. Yep pre war on dirt.

Was this the Clint traumatised when young by his birthday cake with his name written in icing in block capitals? CLINT?
2
@aussieausdeutschland4245 so it lasted that late into the late seventies Commodore era?

The Golden Fleece Stanley campaign when full service was the attraction: https://youtu.be/q4HZcUGPr3A

Usually you get comments knocking a driver or other personality. Not for Mark Larkham though. Tells you something about how he is regarded Yet when Seven network outbid the Ten network for the race, they dropped him. Took a little while till Seven had to take him on again, realising the big mistake they made.

In my Melbourne experience the bins from adjoining local government area s have different bin colour codes. Maybe to stop local theft or bin companies making mistakes. If a big block of flats had a big dumpster then who handles such a big thing to put it out? More manageable with each flat having its own bin. Must hang out on the next garbage collection morning to see what trucks they use. Garbage day varies within a local government area so that the task is spread over the working week.
2
Weber in Italy developed the carb setup. Legend has it the Charger test mule is still there.

At 11:46. That looks to me to be the rare Australian Leyland P76 V8. Should try to find a link on them and one of the ten coupe versions made. https://youtu.be/S21P9n2RoBE A lot of this vid a bit short and dark to tell.
2
The Falcon GTs HO was originally HO for High Output internally at Ford but changed it to Handling Options so as not to upset the Government and media too much. Only minor or no handling upgrades to the XY GT but lots of high output power upgrades. Did not state the power for the same reasons.
2
He died in a replica of a Cobra Daytona Coupe as originally designed by American Peter Brock. How spooky is that. Search Pete Brock Cobra Daytona on Youtube.

The Fish TV was the idea of community TV station Channel 31 as an overnight test pattern broadcast when the station was unmanned. As you saw in the comments it attracted some late night interest. C31 started lots of Car interest shows like Classic Restos with Fletch and In Pit Lane. In Pit Lane had the last interview with Peter Brock before his untimely death. Both shows are on YouTube as well now. Would be great if you could join in an In Pit Lane livestream or their Full Course Yellow shows. Would really give you a feel for thebwhole range of motor racing in Australia from grass roots and up, including historic coverage. Another is Blend Line TV starting on C31.

@karenmcneill2602 luckily the title and description said 1988. I am old enough to remember the ad but not the year. Early models trying to establish the brand.
2
@karenmcneill2602 your welcome. Amazing how a YouTube search will turn up something obscure that I had only vaugely remembered. Close thing because it had only been posted in the last two weeks.
2
@reddog5378 I just did the search and showed up three or four versions of it from Peter Williamson's Celica. Pity this guy does not allow links to be posted unlike dozens of other channels I subscribe to.

G'day Ian. At 2:08 , Hey Charger! https://youtu.be/PZdp9Eavi5g And it might had inspired the later US ad : https://youtu.be/LBgWMIhODlI Glad to see the family is safe and well after the tornadoes. House too.
2
In the fifties in the UK there was a popular BBC Radio series which inspired a 1959 TV series : https://youtu.be/pyKp3cGs5Z4 The series was filmed at Elstree studios in London with location work done in Australia. Not sure if it was shown in Australia, but an indication of the world interest in the RFDS.
2
Although running his own team with lots of help from Phil Irving of Repco for engines and Ron Tsurenac for chassis design. The T in the BT model names of Brabham cars. Lots it others less well known too, but still an unmatched achievement getting such a team together.
2
And Bob Jane was driving for the winning team in the two previous years when the 500 race was at Philip Island. Driving locally assembled Mercedes Benz 220SE and then a Falcon XL.
2
G'day Ian. You might like to look at Wolesley Road Point Piper in Sydney. Understand that this is the most expensive street in Australia. Wikipedia saying properties there were forty times the median average price of properties in all of Australia. Sometimes the cheapest property is cheap for bad reasons not talked about too much. Would hate to see an overseas person buy into a bad area on just a cost basis.
