  1. G'day ian. All the dot gov dot au sites show legal plate options. All non standard involve an extra fee so is a nice little earner for governments seeking more tax revenue to buy votes. At least they usually last the life of the car so don't talk too much about annual plates like the US in case they get more revenue ideas. Lots of other options in the gov sites . Likely too many for you to cover. Some of the largest auction prices Shannon's get are for plates with two or three digits over a hundred years old.. too valuable to be on a car these days.
