The guy stopping the interview was a beach inspector that had some powers but he liked having the power a lot.

Erica Bana at 7:02 wearing the St Kilda Football club jumper of the then Victorian Football league. He might even be number one ticket holder at St Kilda nowadays. You were right about the car being a Ford. Similar to US Falcons of the era. The car being a 1967 local XR Ford Falcon station wagon built not very far from where the photo was taken, The JVL prefix Victorian registration plate ties in with the car year, since 1967 started with the JRD plates and 1968 started with JXE plates.

@daveamies5031 some of the very high res you can get in negatives can be useful. Such as zooming in to a particular area of interest to see just that. Eg the Holtermann glass plate negatives from the 1870s where phenomenal detail of interest can be seen by zooming in. Thousands of them. Even used on the old ten dollar note. It seems the minimum size used was eight inch by ten inch glass plate negatives. Even damaged negatives like this can be useful. Just zoom in around the damaged parts. Every person I have shown them to has been amazed at the quality.

ABBA on record of thanking Australia for re launching their career after Eurovision win being a kiss of death. TV music clips got their sales up well before other countries.

Worth listening to Bjorn about 45 seconds into this to hear how Australia rescued ABBA from obscurity : https://youtu.be/AkJ5RWZdT54 Plenty of vids around on how huge they were in Australia.

My first use of a computer was this landmark first Olivetti one from 1965. My High School mathematics teacher had one on loan for us to learn just a few years after they were in production : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3I3biFudfn4&t=122s A few years later I went on to programming computers in Algol, Fortran and Cobol in the mainframe punched car input era. A valued skill in my later employment.

I think a 1967 XR Falcon station wagon.

An earlier 67 XR. The later XW after the XT was the first Falcon not to have round tail lights. 67 matches the numberplate too.

Old pictures can be very good because film has very high resolution, maybe 20k or more.

The Beatles were also huge in Australia. Some of the best early concert coverage of the Beatles was the Melbourne 1964 concert. https://youtu.be/eTEBjDZ3pyg Huge crowds and Studebakers Police cars as was common in Victoria then.

Ian. Some sixties Honda US colour ads for the 50cc Honda stepthrough and other Honda's : https://youtu.be/yy8IwKMmpIs Big impact on the motorcycle market even in the US.

Beach Inspector conference in 1967 where they were moving with the times a bit : https://youtu.be/kkKkG3tcrOA Another excuse for the ABC to get bikinis on TV.

Fairlane is the same width as a Falcon using lots of tricks to make it look bigger. No Fairlane station wagon here.
