(Oops got confused when you quoted the British imperial mile units). Despite the less knowledgeable previous comments that road trains do the work in the outback, when it comes to a significant task like iron ore, those companies build there own railways to perform the task. Each of those ore cars in the train is carrying about $10,000 worth of iron ore. Next add that up for the whole train, then the daily totals for the trains they run.
