  1. In Australia, Sydney had the most use of double deck buses. I think phased out around the mid to late seventies. When the Melbourne, Bourke street cable tram line was closed in 1940 that tram route heading north was replaced by double decker buses. That was until 1955 when it was converted to electric trams. None of these Australian buses were as nice as the Routemaster buses. In Melbourne some double deck buses have been recently introduced for the unsubsidised Skybus airport route and an outer suburban rail feeder route. Might have been more than too, like the Hobart double deck ancient trams. Went around 1960.
