  1. Far longer were Marathon de la Route events at the Nürburgring from 1965 to 1971. Started at 84 hours up to the 96 hour 1971 event. Mix of road based sports car and touring car classes. The only event the Mazda Cosmo 110S pioneering Wankel rotary car entered. Only beaten by works Porsches and a works Lancia to get fourth place on its first very difficult race.
