Not quite the end of the war newspaper , since the Japanese did not surrender until the two atomic bombs were dropped months later in August 1945. My uncle was never met by me since he died in the period after the war in Europe stoppped but Japan kept attacking Australian troops. He survived fighting in the middle East, then in New Guinea. But the debateable Australian and US action in Tarakan had him killed within such a short time until the real end of the war for Australia. The Melbourne Sun then had the price of 2d printed near the date..Few younger people know that means two pennies or one sixtieth of a dollar in todays money. However back in 1945 you would have to work much longer two earn that much.
