It varies how the locals had treated the Magpies in the past. Aggression breeding aggression the likely cause. Fortunately the ones that lived in my area were very friendly and appreciated us digging weeds out of the garden. Magpies likely thinking, how good are these humans digging up grubs and worms and not eating any of them. These humans here just leave the grubs and worms for us in the soil they loosened up for us. Common in my whole suburb, never heard of an attack unlike my cousins distant suburb.

Please keep in mind that Magpie aggression varies by how even a small minority locals had treated the Magpies in the past. Aggression breeding aggression the likely cause. A life lesson there. Fortunately the ones that lived in my area were very friendly and appreciated us digging weeds out of the garden. Magpies likely thinking, how good are these humans digging up grubs and worms and not eating any of them. These humans here just leave the grubs and worms for us in the soil they loosened up for us. Common for Magpies in my whole suburb, never heard of an attack unlike my cousins distant suburb.

A new unintended damaging downside of drone use cropped up in the news the other week. A likely bird interested drone pilot flew a drone over the nesting site of endangered birds that fly thousands of miles to Australia to nest avoiding Northern winters. The birds decided that their likely millenniums old nest site was not safe from this new noisy predatory drone bird and so flew away abandoning their eggs. We hope that this is just a temporary glitch but we are not too sure of the damage done to the next generation of birds.
