@edwardfletcher7790 the 1968 to 72 chev nova had engine options of 153ci (2.5L) I4 194ci (3.1L) I6 230ci (3.8L) I6 250ci (4.1L) I6 307ci (5.0L) V8 327ci (5.4L) V8 350ci (5.7L) V8 396ci (6.5L) V8 402ci (6.6L) V8 Quite a range. From Wikipedia for the Chevy Nova.

@edwardfletcher7790 I used to believe that widespread Torana claim until I found out about the Nova options , especially the slant four half a V8 motor. 12 Novas were sold by Holden in 1962 as GM expected them to replace the Holden. Why they did not is worth searching YouTube for Shannon's Club TV Chevy Nova

Except the Australian Ford Falcon ran from 1960 to 2016. Seventeen years more. Only a few car nameplates in the world with a longer run.

I have a few dozen Toranas A9X four door and hatches, XB Coupes, XW and XY GTHOs that I race hard. Not a billionaire, just Scalextric 1:32nd scale slot cars being affordable. Latest buy was the Jag XJS winner from Bathurst 1985.

Usually we just need a ball park so simpler to just add a third to the Kw figure to get horsepower.
1
Kw to horsepower, just adding a third is very close. So 300 kw goes to 400 HP.

@edwardfletcher7790 except for the early chev novas and recent C class Mercedes. Perhaps a few others.

@rorirocks6663 also before the Torana was the @Edward Fletcher the 1968 to 72 chev nova had engine options of 153ci (2.5L) I4 194ci (3.1L) I6 230ci (3.8L) I6 250ci (4.1L) I6 307ci (5.0L) V8 327ci (5.4L) V8 350ci (5.7L) V8 396ci (6.5L) V8 402ci (6.6L) V8 Quite a range. From Wikipedia for the Chevy Nova. Even the 62 first ones had four, six and eight options very early on.

@flamingfrancis an 1156cc Torana cheap model entered in 67 hoping for a class win in class A for cars Under $1800. Did not do too well. Beaten by two Datsun 1000s, two Hillman Imps and a Toyota corolla, so all the other car models in the class. The first HB four cylinder only Toranas are nearly forgotten. A rebadge and mild restyle of the HB Vauxhall Viva before Holden got more serious.

Search Youtube for Brock Monza to see him racing one.

Peter Brock first got noticed making the most unlikely car he built a race winner against much more expensive cars with established drivers https://youtu.be/4aK70zmlo0Y Possibly the highest win ratio ever and yet is was a home built special.

Road car VL was mainly sold with the Nissan three litre six, but the racing Commodores always went with the five litre V8.

The A9X mods were mainly to remove the fragility of the earlier cars. Very successful at doing that.
