  2. Australia or more specifically the colony of Victoria helped out an American navy vessel in 1865. After repairs the ship picked up about forty Victorian crew that they badly needed : https://youtu.be/yEBX2QTMrQo Caused an international incident because it was the Confederate Navy and British colonies were supposed to be neutral in the Civil War. All centred around the Williamstown docks area of Melbourne.
