  1. Lots spent on suburban and regional rail in Victoria , but to little effect. Just being largely used by highly paid city workers in banking. Legal services and insurance. Well above average workers getting high subsidies with taxpayers paying 80% of the operating costs that are not covered by the fare revenue. Only about 15% of travel but needing three million dollars a day from taxpayers. Meanwhile roads that serve all the dispersed non CBD destinations that people are travelling too in the biggest numbers are poorly funded or taken away from cars for use by cyclists as a playground. I might get complaints about these points from people wanting a free lunch believing the government can pay when it is really taxpayers. Would be less of an issue if transit users paid for the operating costs like car users do through high taxes on petrol, fines and toll etc. And some wonder why petrol in Australia is taxed so highly.

  2. The proposed tens of billions of dollars rail to Melbourne airport will be no faster than the Skybus that is the only public transport in Victoria that does not need taxpayer subsidies.
