The Chappell brothers coached to a high standard when young by their grandfather Vic Richardson who achieved the following : Captain of Australian cricket team. Member of the Australian and state baseball team. Captain of the South Australia football team and Sturt Aussie rules. State representative at golf. Tennis state title winner. Also high standard at Lacrosse, basketball and swimming. Hard to find anyone in history with this level of multi sporting achievement.

I think the Ken Burns Baseball documentary tracked Baseball being developed from the early playing of Cricket in the US originating the the British roots of the USA.

Baseball is widely played in Australia , but as a participant sport. Few watch it and close to no TV coverage. This leads to many thinking there is no baseball in Australia arising from many who just watch sports. So what they do not see .....

Looking at Wikipedia for a list of Major League Baseball players from Australia I counted 34 players, with the first in 1884 but most since the 1980s. The one I most remembered was Graham Lloyd. Pretty good record for those who believe there is no Baseball in Australia.

The oldest surviving movie film in Australia is the trains arriving at the 1896 Melbourne Cup with Cup coverage just a few hours newer : https://youtu.be/TOUxWVC90Fk Early movie makers seeking out a topic of widespread interest even then.

@flamingfrancis yes heard from a work mentor type, with a baseball playing and coaching background, praising one of the brothers of Neil as being better than Neil at cricket but concentrated on baseball to a high level without becoming famous like Neil. Arising from a family connection to the Harvey family.

I am not much of a Cricket fan , but the top ten balls bowled by Shane Warne even impress me. : https://youtu.be/Qs2Pw952rcI Problem is you would need to watch years of dull cricket to see these highlights.
