No one had heard of Thunderstorm Asthma until that rare extreme dry windy Thunderstorm event that caused huge amounts of the grass pollen to be swept into the air. People outside allergic to the Rye grass pollen in many cases got severe asthma that overwhelmed the health system and led to I think ten fatalities in those with compromised health.

On the radio today a news item with snake bite advice to treat with both brown snake and tiger snake antivenom to be sure. The most common snake bites in Victoria.

Lots of mistakes and wrong emphasis in the 101 facts. So do not take as gospel.

Lots to interest in Targa Tasmania. This one the Chrysler Charger six https://youtu.be/5FTDdtLs6_g

South Australia is the southern state of the central part of Australia. The term southern Australia for the southern part of Australia caused confusion for him. A vague area consisting of parts of some states but usually all of Victoria and Tasmania.

Something like $100 billion of gold extracted from Victoria by the 1890s that the government knew about. Helped make Melbourne the highest income per head of population in the world by the 1880s. But it was wasted on white elephant projects like dozens of loss making Octopus Act railways and bank buildings. Soon had Victoria in a depression in the nineties losing population and no longer having the highest population. History soon to be repeated with our big spending state government pork barreling policies.

Good that you often know more than the 101 guy. So fact check his distortions made to be funny.

Bathurst early gold was more minor compared to the Victorian gold Fields waiting to be made public until Victoria separated from NSW on 1 July 1851. The influx of migration due to the gold rush soon had Victoria overtake NSW in population. Ballarat and Bendigo around 100 miles to the west and north west of Melbourne, but minor gold and diamond discoveries in Melbourne suburbs. Peter Brock brought up in Diamond Creek. Later in the 1890s another gold rush to Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. Gold mining still significant to the economy today. A big topic.

Victoria did not have convicts sent from England just some trivial workforce related small short term stuff from other penal settlements. https://guides.slv.vic.gov.au/Victoriasearlyhistory/convicts

Took a while to decide on Canberra and then build it.

Other languages spoken due to high migration into Australia from other parts of the non English speaking world. English speaking requirement not always needed for entry. A few pockets here you may feel like you are in another country when foreign signage and language dominate.

Started in 1851 just after Victoria was safely separated from NSW as a state in its own right. Discoveries kept quiet until then.

Funny how we think the Red Back is unique since less of us know about the Black Widow Spider.

The tiny islands and Antarctic territory have little impact on Australians.

Virus having major impacts on air fares now. Australia virtually closed to tourism as a virus response. May be a year or so but even then air travel unlikely to get back to normal.
