  3. Not safe to run high downforce open wheel cars etc on high banked, high speed ovals. Reason being the G forces on the driver from cornering can cause the driver to pass out from the blood rushing away from the brain with the G forces involved for long duration corners. I think the Indycar series found this out a few years ago and had to stop racing at certain high speed ovals. Indy course less of an issue with tighter turns and less length.

  4. Lots of NASCAR lap averages over 200mph let alone top speeds. Saw Marcos Ambrose do it a lot when watching his races on Australian TV. 200mph average from 1970 then cars got restricted but still there was a 212 mph qualifying in 1987. Some high speeds in this vid : https://youtu.be/cwdlskZ50m4 Although the tracks had a lot to do with it. 245 mph at LeMans in the sixties and seventies with the Ford GT40 or Mk 4. Later the 917 Porsche and even faster turbo CanAm versions. All more limited now for safety of spectators.
