Some think they are native or like to hunt them so do not want them eradicated.

The feral deer problem is being talked about on the radio as a problem that may spread foot and mouth disease that is ravaging Bali now and may spread to Australia. If it does it will have a hundreds of billions dollar impact on agriculture here. In the early seventies California shot 20,000 white tail deer to successfully control a foot an mouth disease outbreak. We may take action here after it is too late.
