A old goldrush TV series song that helped me remember the start of the rush in 1851 : https://youtu.be/7CGAzD8B-NI A bit of exaggeration in the series based on the Cobb and Co stage coach company. This was set up by one of the large numbers of Americans who headed here once the 49er California Gold Rush petered out. Setup by Freeman Cobb. One of many Americans, some of whom knew the money to be made was in supplying the miners. Gradually displaced by railways, but the last outback stage coaches lasted until around 1920 in Queensland. The Freeman Cobb Concord coach design being better suited to Australian road conditions than the British designs in use here. A few more complete episodes on YouTube.
