  1. Most supermarkets and even Kmart and Bunnings are open until 9 or 10pm. What closes are local small cafes chasing work break related business.

  3. Lots of turn left on red in Melbourne at major intersections. But where there are specific separate flared lanes to do it . Eg Victoria and Hoddell. Whitehorse and Springvale etc. However some of these heavy traffic directions had bad accident records so lights were put in to link it in with the other lights to prevent conflicts.

  4. Many people I know from work, friends and family play baseball. But hardly anyone would watch a baseball game. It is more a participatory sport. Next to no TV coverage except on obscure digital channels at say world series finals times. Few even watch these.

  5. AFL attendances are way ahead of NRL and soccer. However soccer is popular with little kids less able to develop the skills needed for Australian Rules or AFL. Even three year Olds can kick a round ball that is already on the ground. They like that better than missing a kick of an oval ball thrown down to their foot and timing it right to kick it.
