  2.  @tachikomakusanagi3744  Slang. Like dollars and bucks so were pounds and quid. Likely even more widespread. Same with Shillings and a Bob. Like a two Bob watch Being a near useless cheap two shilling watch. Although back the you could buy 6 or 8 newspapers for two Bob.

  3.  Jdjdj smith  Was very widespread to say quid back when Australian pound shillings and Pence currency were in use before 1966 ,but gradually went out of common use. Still occasionally hear past references like " my father used to earn twenty quid a week' and most will understand.
