***** Ukraine was NOT the first to start shelling. Ukraine was winning by using ground forces and Special Forces. Then the Russians started handing the DNR armor and Artillery, along with the limited mortars and automatic grenade launchers the DNR already had. The DNR used Artillery and Mortars to counter Ukraine's progress. There's reports and even posted information from Active Russian soldiers who had posted on social media clearly helping the DNR via. over the border Artillery support, and night crossing with Armored vehicles.
I'm not lying to myself. Ukraine had to defend itself, and it did exactly that. You could blame Great Britain for carpet bombing Germany and it's civilians during World War 2 in order to strike fear into Hitler, but you'd be speaking German if that didn't happen. Now of course, the Ukrainian leader would be right to step down and let the political system fix his screw ups, but the point is that it's still called the Ukraine, and not the Donetsk Republic, or some splinter nation under the Russian Federation. And as i said earlier, war is war. Ukraine doesn't have the means to deliver super accurate bombs that can only kill the rebels while avoiding the civilians their positioned so close to. When you think about it, maybe the DNR rebels should have thought of another place to put up a fight rather than risking it's own towns population because it just wants the world to view it's enemy as the bad guys for trying to defend themselves.
And yes, Riot police have the right, and all means to protect themselves when being attacked. Peaceful protests are the ONLY kind of protests. Otherwise it's just an armed conflict between the law enforcement. However, like in any protest in the Modern 21st century... You have one or a few people with their own Agenda's within said protest that could easily turn a peaceful protest into a violent clash and send a country into a deteriorating situation.

***** Of course they started shelling Donetsk, because there were reports of militant rebels taking over the entire region with help of Armored forces, and un-marked men, who have long since been confirmed as Russian "soldiers on vacation", AKA volunteers to prevent direct blame to going on the Russian Federation.
MH17... Of course theirs no clear evidence, it's called war on information. No side accepts the responsibility, like a bunch of children they all refuse to tell the truth even though one of them clearly did it. But the evidence revealed a few weeks ago proved it was a Russia developed AAA weapon, which either side could have. So how you you tell who hit the plane? Easy. Look at where the plane was headed. You think Ukraine would shoot down a civilian plane that had already been flying for hours over it's territory? If they didn't shoot it while it was already over their country, there's no reason to hit it while it's about to leave Ukrainian Air Space. They already knew it was friendly. Second, look at the DNR. They'd BEEN shooting down tens of Ukrainian Aircraft. The DNR is a rebel force, they don't have Air Assets. Why the hell would anyone need Mobile Anti-Air against a rebel group with no Aircraft? The remaining points then is clear. Since the DNR had already downed a lot of Ukrainian planes and Helicopters, they were easily capable of hitting a civilian aircraft they would have assumed to be just another transport or bomber headed in their direction. They could have though ti was dropping bombs, or carrying paratroopers behind their lines. Or Russia, but that's unlikely, Russian forces aren't that stupid to screw up that bad.

***** How could you frame a group and make them look like terrorists when they already are? Far before the downing of the Passenger jet, they stormed government buildings, took over police stations. You do that in any other country, yeah, they're going to shoot you back. There was no formal declaration of conflict between the Ukraine and DNR, so on the term of random attacks in populated area's yes, it does classify as Terrorism, people were terrified
Now sure, i condemn the Ukraine for using heavy artillery to bombard rebels taking up positions in populated area's, but as a rebel group with no direct advantage other than a few rag tag Russian supporters and heavy vehicles, they'd have already lost if they chose a toe to toe path of operations. However, when you have one group lobbing hot lead down range at you, but you know there in a populated area, at some point or another, you're going to get fed up with not firing back, and fire back. The reality of it is, you could call them terrorists for hitting populated towns. But in reality, War is War. One side isn't going to just play it nice guy just because their enemy is held up using meat shields with it's people. Collateral is sometimes a factor of war. Not popular with people, they live there, but that's reality.
Now before you say that MH17 was collateral, you'd be wrong, there were no people on that plane that were of importance to either side. They were unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time..
