  1. Not Canada's fault. It's NATO's. NATO is run by the US, which basically runs the narrative that Russia is evil. At the end of the day, it all turns back to the rivalry between the US and Russia since the end of World War 2.

  2. Last time i checked, Crimea voted to join Ukraine after it realized what it did in separating from Ukraine. Russia took the opportunity to protect the region and annexed it. Not illegally, because the people wanted it so that they didn't end up like the other rebel held area's. No, NATO isn't supposed to back up a country that is NOT a NATO member. That goes against it's doctrine, but it's doing it anyway, in which case, is teasing a full scale war with Russia which NATO and Russia won't win. I'm sorry to bust your loyalty to NATO, but i know downed well how it works, and i used to support NATO... before it tarted integrating another global war. Yes, NATO is supposed to let Russia and Ukraine deal with their own problems. A global conflict isn't worth defending a single nation that's not even a member state.

  4. We can no longer talk about Democracy when such values are NOT upheld by the west anymore. To say otherwise is simply foolish, if you haven't been watching the unfolding situation in the US and around the world based on it's foreign policies. Canada is simply a pawn of the bigger picture unfortunately. Pan your view over to Syria for a second, and you'll see the US had a chance to work with Russia to end decades long issues both nations have caused. Instead, they sought to attack them instead, and a UN convoy was hit killing innocent people. No one knows who hit it but blame the other, and now, are on the path to war. IT's not a Democracy when the people don't have a say in this conflict. No one supports a US attack on Russia, but since the people don't have a say, all we're fed is media narrative that Russia is at fault, it's their war, their atrocities... But if you're not stupid, you've watched the Middle East spiral out of control because of the US, not Russia. Russia steps in stop finally stop it and prevent Syria from turning into Libya, and Iraq, and it's suddenly Russia carrying out war crimes? Bullshit. Only way to fix these problems for For US to work with Russia and fix their rivalry with more friendly relations.

  5. Medovukha Let me clarify something for you. I'm referring to US foreign policy. No one gives a shit about Ukraine. The people didn't tell the government to go defend you, if you liked your country so much why the fuck don't you go liberate Crimea yourself then? The only reason where out there defending incompetent Ukrainians right now is because of money. That's literally it. I can see that Russia isn't doing much, the only reason the US is at odds with them is because they forced the US to do a 180 in Syria and spanked it's ass on the world stage. Now the US is considering war with Russia because it couldn't usher up the guts to admit it's foreign policy fucking sucks, and their Sec. of Defense admitted he was incapable of separating rebels from extremists, which is the only reason the US is over there right now. If they can't do that, then what's the fucking point? Russia is NOT evil. You'd be stupid as hell to think so.

  7. Ray Reeves Canada is a Humanitarian power house, that's it. Our military is for sovereign defense, and peacekeeping. What's going on in Ukraine is neither. It's a US backed narrative. It's not nearly Canada's choice because the people here never had a choice to vote for the matter. I never had a say. IF i could vote, i would have voted hell no. But i'm guessing it was the money involved. Money and war are two hand in hand things that is hard for any Capitalist agenda to avoid, as it's too lucrative for them. They nearly can't turn down an opportunity. It's a shame. If it was about defending Democracy and peace, and stability, then the world wouldn't be so damned tense right now. But it's hard to have an opposing narrative to the US's. It's just popular among everyone else, that if Canada were to say, "No, that's not in our interest", then then Canada would probably end up with economic pressure, and problems from "allies".

  8. Medovukha Putin probably rose to power after seeing what the US was doing. When the USSR collapsed, they did their own thing. US instead seeked to grow NATO. That was completely fine until they started using their power abusively. You can talk about Russia on human rights abuses like bombing hospitals and schools, but what about the US? They to have struck hospitals and schools in Syria and Afghanistan too. Not to mention they killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's after 9/11, in which they don't even know who did it. Iraq was un-related, as the only reason for going into Iraq was WMD's. Lets not forget what Iraq is like today. How about Libya? If it were truly about ousting dictators, than Libya would be better off than it is today. Instead, it's over run by US backed extremists is it not? How about Syria? Same deal, except i was correct about Russia. Only difference is that Syria is a Russian ally, and as such, it was the US's biggest mistake to draw red lines and attempt to push Syria down the same dismal and disgusting life path of Iraq and Libya. Your argument is pointless and only filled with your misguided opinions. The US needs to change its policies, and perhaps they can get some credibility back. But hey, you can make up every excuse in the world that the US is the world savior and loves Democracy. It can't even uphold it's own Democracy. Wikileaks already proved that, and of course the US's only defense is to blame Russia to hide the contents of the leak. But hey, continue believing what you want to. Just remember, war helps no one. Russia fought hard to defeat the Nazi's and Fascism too. They understood what it meant when they first sided with Hitler and then got stabbed in the back. They learned their lesson and lost millions of lives to their foolishness. But before you discredit Russia again, remember the US didn't care about Hitler until Japan bombed Hawaii, which is the only reason the US entered the war. They only then used their entrance from then on as a glorious fight against fascism.

But don't forget that Ukraine and Russia have had history for a long time, with Crimea passing between administration from time to time. That's their business. Again, Ukraine is not a NATO ally. That country isn't worth a global conflict, because it's government is as corrupt and as sketchy as Russia's once was. But nations change like people do too. Russia isn't the same imperialistic nation that Stalin ran. Putin himself has even distanced himself personally from nations like North Korea and China. The only reason they're getting close together now is because of US actions near their territory. I'm not raising one country up over another. I can tell you that no country is innocent. Not Russia, Not the US, not Europe, they all have issues that i can make look just as bad as Stalinist Russia and Hitler's Germany, trust me. IF you know history, you wouldn't be praising like a child. But hey, you're entitled to your opinion. I only use facts. This shit is basic history.

  11. ***** It's almost a curse having so much territory to defend against. If a war breaks out Canada's North Western Tundra is a massive strategic headache, also doesn't help the ice is melting leaving Russia in the advantage with their modernized naval forces. Canada is still in the early stages of modernization, and it's not looking so good for us now that even our fighters are literally easy targets for Russian Interceptors. Not to mention Canada's interceptor program died decades ago with the introduction of NORAD.
