  2. Joseph R. Moore Welcome to the Media in the 21st century. A bunch of soft morons who drink ignorance for breakfast, and can't even handle a simple fact when it comes down to it. You have to remember that media is all about opinions. When something doesn't match, they cut it.

  3. The problem with open carry isn't a civil thing. It was pretty much a thing of the past, and lets be honest here. If something goes down, bad guys start shooting, then you have a bunch of good guys with guns too, and they all get into a gun fight, what do you thinks going to happen? Stray bullets is the least of your worries when the cops show up wondering who to shoot, because everyone's got a gun. There's more trouble than good when it come to open carry. A bad guy can easily run around a corner, sling his gun around his waist and pretend to be a law abiding citizen. Use common sense.

However, on your thoughts with the officers being able to discern an assailant or not, basically, it's better to make the police officers job easier by either carrying concealed fire arms like pistols, rather than having long rifles openly visible. It's better to be able to draw from concealment, deal with the threat, and then call law enforcement, after you've then secured your weapon. I see it as added security due to the nature of concealment. Open carry is a bit like showing off. I mean sure, to a number of people, it's fine, but to a majority who really want to just go about normal days without thinking of threats, it's just polite i guess.
