You have 6-7 countries claiming islands in those waters, and from the looks of it, they're all pissed to the point they're creating cooperation against China in the case this arbitration suit doesn't succeed, i think those others countries have an idea of their own on how to keep their sovereignty in spite of Chinese making baseless claims of a sea that's closer to those other countries than they are to China itself. You're opinion doesn't change fact. Most of these nations are now creating a coalition to keep China in check to respect their claims, where as China is simply building fortifications in preparation to challenge those claims. It's easier to hold talks when you're not at war. If China refuses to acknowledge others claims, then it's only pushing itself into a conflict while pointing it's finger at everyone else.
