+colourmegone Just like how conditions change, so do decisions. If at one point you promise to pull forces out, and the enemy begins filling the void you're leaving when you withdraw troops, if you continue to withdraw, you will allow your enemy to move in completely, sieze control, and kill innocent people, launder their food, resources, money, even children. Perhaps you're a sleaze bag know it all, that thinks everything will remain the same for ever. That's not how life works, sorry to break it to you, kid.

colourmegone To some extent i agree, but you didn't hear his whole story. The only line you saw, was that he decided to stay, and not why. They're only going to stay there as long as it takes to get rid of the corruption in Afghan Military Leadership. Now of course, what business is it to us? Politically, none. Morally? Well tell you what, before you lecture me about Afghanistan, why don't you ask the Marines who beat the crap out of an Afghan Commando for molesting boys just to fit in with the rest of his higher up comrades. What does that tell you about their military, and what would happen if we just pull out. Not only did the United States try to help out the Afghans, but so did Canada, at a time when the American's decided to go into Iraq after 9/11. The best option, is Afghan military reform. If something isn't done about their leadership, it will be as if we never entered the country in the first place. It will all be in vein. We need to leave setting a good example to follow, that of which i believe the Marines actions, were well expressed in that regard.

colourmegone Lol, giving up because you have nothing more valid to say? I see, you Americans were never one to admit defeat, or to accept the fact that change is a good thing. After all, that is the circle of life, it's ever changing. Deal with it. And if you think i'm wrong, just look at history. Any historian will tell you. Come the End of the First and Second World War, came the rise of a deep greed driven Economy. No nation gets where it does so fast without vast exploitation, and some presidents have been a big part of it, especially Bush. Oil is one example, and you can't even argue that, it's in history books, it's been recorded in the fabric of time. Bush was the peak of Oil exploitation that had been started long ago, when both Soviet Union and the US realized they both needed oil for their vast machines of war to wage against each other and have the upper hand, it was the need to be able to deliver a nuke anywhere, at any time, and have the ability to do so for the longest period of time. But those times have ended, or so it seems, many left and right wingers refuse to let go of those times, because it was a rush. A sort of excitement for them. But the only threat to the US, is isn't own corruption, and you can thank Obama for exposing most of it, even before he hit office he had received the most unprecedented amount of bigotry from the right wingers. They tried to impeach him for 8 straight years, spent countless ours and money to create those Government scandals you mention. That's one of the reasons Obama had to even shun his own Secret Service, he had men jump the fence more than any other president had ever experienced. It could get worse. Your denial things need to change, is simply an example of why they need to.
