@ahratazaratazahla6923 The term Phoenicia is an exonym from ancient Greek that most likely described a dye also known as Tyrian purple, a major export of Canaanite port towns. The term did not correspond precisely to Phoenician culture or society as it would have been understood natively, and it is debated whether the Phoenicians were actually a civilization distinct from the Canaanites and other residents of the Levant. Historian Robert Drews believes the term "Canaanites" corresponds to the ethnic group referred to as "Phoenicians" by the ancient Greeks. -wikipedia Maybe for the same reason some people call Jews Hebrews?

@ahratazaratazahla6923 Maybe what Mr. Seigel meant was you're over-thinking the problem? In the long range of things, maybe these situations are insignificant? Hebrews conquered Canaanites. Elamites conquered Sumerians. Amorites conquered Babylonians. Romans conquered Gauls. Americans conquered Indians. History teaches us that all empires rise, then fall.

God didn't invent the Hebrew language, it EVOLVED. It's amazing how Christians fail to understand the mechanisms inherent to characteristics of refinement that even the Jews don't dispute. Great video, magnificent research. Honest Christians should be intrigued. And honesty would compel them to admit that their religion is a schism from original Judaism. But honesty is never a prerequisite to their dogma.

@Luth Lexor Of course God didn't invent the Hebrew language. I was being facetious. God didn't write the Bible either, but is represented in the Torah as speaking in the first person. However, Protestants actually do deny that their religion is also a schism from Catholicism. I was raised with a Baptist upbringing, and was noticing the flaws in it before my teenage years. Half a century ago.

@Tsuta Fundamentalist Baptists consider Jews to be God's chosen people who are nonetheless apostates from God's intent to reform his 4000 year old mistake from animal sacrifice to the one human sacrifice of Jesus to expatiate the sins of humanity. That (sacrifice) is the one common factor that unites Judaism, Christianity, Greek, and Roman religions. In my humble view, it's all a bunch of primitive superstition. Also, Fundamentalists disbelieve they're a schism from Catholicism, and see themselves as successors to the first Christians. Gnostics excluded. Modern Christians display a remarkable ignorance of the history of their origins, because it involves more intellect than they're capable of.

@MG-ot2yr I recommend further reading of Bart Ehrman for more elaboration on this subject. The Ugaritic texts of Ras Shamra in Vetus Testamentum Volume 5 by John Grey are also highly informative.
