True story: I remember from junior high in 1971 a social studies teacher predicting to our class that the US national debt would reach one trillion dollars, maybe by the year 2000. Must have been an inevitability.

I dragged myself from abject poverty to one step above abject poverty. The experience taught me one valuable lesson about working in America: "IT'S NOT WHAT YOU KNOW, IT'S WHO YOU KNOW."
122
Cats call us "smooth babies."

Why you should read Don Quixote: Because Cervantes had an elegant touch of subtle sarcasm using the words he wrote to describe the frivolities of humanity. The guy was a sublime genius.
39
Instead of mind-altering, it should be called "mood-altering." If honesty was a factor in anti-weed propaganda.
14
Not much of a biologist, are you? Never heard of Darwin's finches? Is your faith just an act?

Schwarzenegger's formula: Heavy weights and fewer reps for bulking up. Lighter weights and more reps for definition. Arnold's getting older and so am I. I read in an interview where he said that he's not working out as much as he did when he was young. Reduces the chances for arthritis and other sorts of damage. Lift well, my friends.

I'm beginning to like this series. Putting historical figures on trial in a forum that presents prosecution and defense after the fact in order to dispel absolute historical opinions of such personalities. Well done.

Q)How far can a dog run into that same forest? A)Only halfway. Then he's running out.
6
Interesting information.
6
Maybe the humans will evolve that much intelligence some day.
6
Whose god? There were 1000 human tribes, each with their own cultural deity.
5
Once again, a quality, educational, and intelligent video from TED-Ed. Thank you. Well done.
5
You must be blind. I recommend Jesus brand spectacles. Jesus heals the blind.
5
100% of biologists believe in this theory, having seen it in operation. Surely you're more intelligent than any biologist, aren't you?
5
@brentonswan100 You demonstrate adequately that you have no clue as to what biological evolution is. Adaptation is evolution in action, and is meant to aid the birds in acquiring food sources. Student, educate thyself. There is a mountain of evidence for evolution, and a world of data to research such science from. There's a reason why the theory of evolution is regarded as fact and religion is regarded as myth. Try refuting the entire fossil record if you feel brave enough.
5
@vesuvandoppelganger Why are you arguing with me instead of educating yourself in basic biology? If you have difficulty understanding genetics and DNA, complain to a biologist why he's wrong and you think you're right. There's a reason why evolutionary biology is taught in labs and colleges. READ THE WIKIPEDIA PAGE, for chrissakes!
5
Whose god? There must be 1000 of them.
5
An American using Tamil is as fruitless as an Arab using Inuit.
5
"It's NOT A TOOMAH!"
4
Criticize all you like. It predates you, and it'll outlast you.
4
Humans let gods happen.
4
Give them the finger.
4
@vesuvandoppelganger The fossil record demonstrates evolution with the example of Archaeopteryx. If dinosaurs evolving into birds isn't a good enough example for you, then nothing is. Please explain how this specimen as discovered is impossible. Prove yourself smarter than paleontologists and biologists. If you can.
4
@bonar1211 Which god of the 1000?
4
@dudethebagman I acknowledge the use of a gender specific pronoun, and plead guilty as charged to the complaint as listed above.
3
@RonandHerm But which god is the one absolute? And which rituals, ceremonies, and rites does this absolute god desire to be worshipped by? The Iron Age Jewish practices of sacrifice and obeisance, or the Christian schism's heresy of belief through works? Or is your one god Ahura-Mazda, the supreme deity of Zoroastrianism; an older and more established deity than the Judaic YHWH? Belief is opinion. You will learn ultimate wisdom when you are taught that NO ONE CARES WHAT YOUR OPINION IS, since there's not enough information available to make an informed decision about much of anything.
3
@cloroxbleach3809 Sorry. My karma ran over your dogma. I think he ran through that hole in your fence, and now his fur is all over my tires. You owe me one car wash.
3
You already died in your last universe, so they sent you here.
3
The text is sublime and very artistic. Almost like Tolkien Elvish.
3
I've had some of the same doctors. It's easier on all parties involved to just delete them from the equation entirely, by not getting sick or hurt.
3
Many of us need no religion or myths at all.
3
Peanut Butter Und Haggis.
3
Life is comic tragedy. Anyone who's lived learns this.
3
The biological explanation that supplanted the comedy of mythic creationism.
3
@vesuvandoppelganger What type of insane god would create a bird with teeth buried in millions of years of stratified stone? Do you people even think about the crazy ideas you promote? Isn't it teetering on the edges of reality how certain sentient organisms deny the visible proofs of the past for the invisible and incredible allegations of deceptive nomadic sheep herders? I think you lunatics should directly confront scientists and voice your objections for a hilarious comedy show, instead of crying against science that your creation myths are pseudoscience, and not in any way based upon reality on YouTube comment sections. You think you know so much about genetics? Tell a geneticist your alternate scenarios.
3
@brentonswan100 Now your persistent denials are boring me. Before I mute you for being odious, I suggest you go and voice your objections to at least a dozen scientific disciplines to scientists and university students who are better educated than I am to answer your contentious denials of logic. Since I know you're too lazy to actually do any real work such as that, consider this foolish waste of time conversing with you at an abrupt conclusion. You and Vesuvius are just bickering, which is why you're not discovering.
3
I don't know about Kush being a lost kingdom, but there are sure some good Kush hybrids that produce prodigious trichomes.
3
Everything in moderation. Avoid extremes.
3
@lugialover09 In science there are questions that may never be answered. In religion there are answers that may never be questioned.
3
I've wondered often about how infinitely sustainable capitalism's directional momentum can last. In the future, dishwashers will make as much as lawyers do now. Lawyers will make as much as movie stars, and movie stars can own nations. While devaluing currency until it debases utterly. Value is an ambiguous ideal. How long can growth continue?
3
@KalkuehlGaming Humans didn't endure a mass extinction event. Dinosaurs did.
3
In science there are questions that may never be answered. In religion there are answers that may never questioned.
3
The universe is the greatest waste of space in the universe. -me
3
Sweet dreams are made of cheese. Who am I to diss a brie?
3
Me too.
3
@eucenor4171 Americans don't need old Tamil languages when English is far more complex and descriptive. Also pertinent to note that the original comment is written in English, not Tamil.
3
You are the answer to your own question. You believe the impossible.
3
Try to avoid wars.
