  4. And then sometimes avoiding conflict from people's big mouths is a form of self-defense. Some people deserve to be avoided, instead of being allowed to continue agitating those who are more mature.

  6.  @ericwilliams626  There is no price to pay too high for the privilege of owning yourself. -Fredrich Nietzsche This quote convinced me that retiring as early as possible was in my best interest. Now I own myself, and can practice selfishness instead of selflessness. And I derive a certain amount of self-satisfaction from sacrificing my penchant for serving others. Just a couple of decades of freedom before I turn 80 and get too weak to wake up in the morning.
