  2. Because this variant is new, we have no immunity and no vaccines for at least a year. This one is comparable to the 1918 epidemic.

  3.  @forthfarean  I said "comparable" in the sense that the 1918 virus was also new and the people had no immunity nor a vaccine. WW-1 was in its last year and lots of people were on the move worldwide which helped the spread of the disease. The mortality rate was indeed higher but biased towards younger people. Yes, it is not "the same" as the 1918 but one can make certain comparisons, no?
