  1. I have a facsimile copy of a book on the physical geography of Spain published in 1775 by Guillermo Bowles. In it, he mentions the concerns of the inhabitants of Asturias (region in N. Spain) who were concerned about the snow on the mountains and thought that the climate was changing. They even blamed it on the Great Lisbon Earthquake of 1755. So climate change scares are at least 250 years old!
