Europe has close to 2000 year history of wiping out almost anything harmful not related to human population. Even wolves and bears are massively reduced compared to Canada and far East Russia.
As far as deadly animals, I still face Australian hazards with less concern than I would with cougars/mountain lion , bear or other large animals. As I understand it many places you are foolish to hike forests, go fishing mountain rivers camping and other outdoor activities without being being armed.
Here I have had over 50 years of outdoor pastimes, hiking, fishing, gem/gold fossicking, camping and the number of times I have met with dangerous critters snakes, scorpions, spiders, large centipedes, I can count on my one hand. If I include sea creatures, sharks, Blue ring octopus, Jellyfish/Stingers, stingray or similar, maybe the second hand fingers too.
Only by purposeful hunting have I encountered those usually while catching them. Then I could come up with many dozens to hundreds depending on what I include, as spiders scorpions, giant centipedes I would not regard significant. Even having been bitten by a Redback spider (cousin of US Black Widow) while gardening without gloves though did not even go to the doctor.
Basically you are relatively unlikely to meet up with most creatures if you do not get into specific activities seeking such.
I have in prior comments related some of my "dangerous" encounters so skip that here.
