  1. You may be surprised by how warm it has been, when normally you would have expected snow by now. We on the other hand have had quite cold periods through into December. Though already some days to over 35°C, 95°F, there have been under 10°C days. In Nov, there was over 20cm snow in the moutaibs, as cold winds hit, coming up from Antarctica. Historically the mountain above Hobart has had snow on rare occasions around Christmas and New Year. But on the whole we have hotter weather from October pn, but warmest seems Jan to Feb. Christmas is more typically high 20's or above.

  2. School year is normally three terms, summer holiday is longest from before Christmas to start Feb. But there are two shorter fortnight from memory term breaks, say May and August I think.

  3. We use a fake tree, but natural looking, not the junk ones in silver or gold, or even ridiculous candy or fluro colours. Some use purchased real trees, others use a potted tree, either pine/fir type, or even other bushy plant to decorate as Christmas tree. Early on we also a few times had real tree or just a suitable branch. We had four pine tree in side yard area, that had been left over after dad and my cousin were payed planting some 30 to 50 trees, forget real amount now, for another family.

Sadly many councils are driven by what I call nuts, pushing woke, political correctness try to be inclusive of non Christians, and cancelling any Christmas decorations and events, to not upset/offend those not celebrating this. However over look the majority that do want to celebrate the event, being massively upset and offended by the canceling. Many non Christians fully join in the event as a gift giving peace among people event.

  7. Candle lit event, the karge main city pnes are normally televised, here east coast Melbourne and Sydney Carols by Candlelight Concerts are televised.
