US gallon is 3.58 liter. Plus at present AU$1 is under US$0.70, though was recently briefly up to $0.75, and down to $0.65. Petrol in particular goes through regular rises and dips as various discounts are offered, even varying across the city. Diesel stays more stable often a bit above petrol price but also below maximum petrol price point.
