  4. It is just summer and hot weather comes sometimes. Yes Sydney has temperatures to 40 °C, 104°F, and above expected in these days. Worse is if combined with higher humidity, as Sydney can readily get, as more often linked to tropical north. Though dry inland winds also occur. Melbourne does get heat waves to similar temperatures, but predominantly only for Northerly winds, orriginating from inland regions, so really hot conditions normally are dry heat.
