Biggest bread difference is that European bread has a great crust and the bread has substance and variety of flavours. US bread as shown has even its soft crust cutoff. The common sandwich bread, that is predominant bought is nothing like EU breads, some option in specialist bakery section, but these are almost rare by comparison. The crust when there is thin and soft, and the interior of the bread is supersoft pulp, no substance mostly spongy almost only foamed dough. Flavour is almost entirely absent, what flavour exists is mostly light and simmilar for all white bread. Only sourdough or whole grain/multigrain shows some flavour.
