Kununurra is a place I have done much car "Hot " testing.
Pronounced KUN-UN-NURRA.
Just east was a permanent test site used by Holden. With concrete test pads to put cars driven to extreme engine, coolant water, oil and transmission conditions.
We stayed in a Kununurra motel, and spent from sunrise till sunset out doing various hot tests on road and test pads, for injection and all other car hardware. My work was fuel injection, but other systems from radiator, airconditioner, to transmission had entire teams active for weeks. Ideal were days with 46°C in the shade, even hotter exposed out on the roads and even hotter than that were hot soak, sitting engine off in low shielding canvas surrounds, blocking wind from dissipating heat from car systems. Not unusual were temperatures we had to handle of over 65°C inside car, if we were required at the car, if possible we had shaded rest area, close by while logging temperatures, but some required active test steps, that meant things like restart, idle and drivability after soak.
Many litres of cool drinks, loaded by light dose of energy additives like Staminade. Not too heavy dose allowed, but perspiration sure drained the body as after many litres of drink little was left to pass naturally.
Tyres often had coatings of asphalt coming in from driving cycle, although here special high temp asphalt is used, normal city asphalt be comes soft liquid.
