  2. I must say your rejection seems much based on preconceived notions around your familiar foods. Of the ones you chose all are very fine and I have lived 63 years in Australia having left Germany with the family when 8 yrs old. I prefer ALL chosen items over British Black pudding Scottish Haggis even the US "Hog Jowls" does not appeal to me though that is quite closely related to at least two of the tried German items in terms of meat used (i.e. what you call Head Wurst). How about chicken brains? I could if I tried list several Bavarian dishes that I refuse to eat, among these are certain sausages that on being pierced run out gooey on the plate as if 'sh..t' Highly unappetizing though apparently liver based. But then for me among worst dishes are like very popular English dish of "Steaks and Kidney" the odour alone makes me pucke, and once at work in the cafeteria many returned what was listed on the menu as "Beef Stew" but was actually Stesk and Kidney, the English lady serving became frustrated as for her this was FAR BETTER than the labelled Beef Stew, could not understand the utter rejection by so many people demanding refunds. If you tried "Matjes" salted herring in brine or normally oil, you may certainly feel it not meeting your palate I love it in various forms and dishes. However if you were in Sweden or Norway you would find fish dishes that make the Matjes a delicacy by comparison. I do have two Swedish fish dishes, sold via Ikea shops in most places these stores exist English Kipper on the other hand I find zero interest in while loving smoked Herring or Mackeral. Then much eaten by me, some people hate Smoked Salmon yet it is so terrific (and expensive). Ever tried a French favourite Escargot (snails) , not for me as are Raw Oysters that so many gladly spend much money for. Or Frogs legs. In Asia Bird Nest Soup (birds use spittle to build the nests). Going in Asian countries including Japan traditional dishes would so to say 'knock your socks off'. Fermented beans a Japanese delicacy that you need to clothes peg your nose and numb taste buds first I had it for several breakfasts pleasing my Japanese hosts immensely though many young generation Japanese children refuse it. How about 75 year or 100 year old eggs, dark brown-green- black. Also some odour. So expensive a delicacy that you almost need a loan to afford it. I am sure I could find a number of US dishes especially those southern 'hillbilly' states that you probably also would find out of favour. I am looking forward to Sourkraut and Pork with mashed potatoe some evening this week. Have some picked Herring on bread for lunch some time too.
