  1. Why is DW so obsessed with Afghanistan one year after ? Because the aura of the USA's former presence is still lingering in the mind of DW or globally of Germans journalists and medias. Notice that DW hardly ever talks about the living conditions or the state of things politically in syria, lybia and yemen. Why ? Because there was no significant American presence in those countries. There are German troops in Mali yet DW hardly ever talk about that and even less about Mali itself. If there were American troops in Mali, DW would have talked a 100x more about Mali than it does now. It's one those subtle psychological drive that determines people's actions and reactions that they themselves do not notice and do not explain.
