  1. In Strasbourg and other cities in this region such as Colmar, Mulhouse, Haguenau... french is spoken widely. In the rural areas and smaller cities, Alsatian dialect of the German language is widely spoken. Most people of this region above the age of 50 and often less, speak french with a german accent...often very pronounced.
