@anap847 - Japan relies on the US. - There are more Japanese living and working or studying in the US than the other way round. BTW, the japanese princess who left her country recently chose the US. Just like a Prince of England chose the USA. - Japan's democracy was created and imposed by the USA. - 99% of japanese technologies are copies of US tech. - The US is featured DAILY in japanese media and debates and academia...the reverse is not the case. - The USA can survive without Japan. Japan cannot survive without the US unless it wants to become like Nord korea or be crushed by aggressively rising china.

@anap847 Singapore is more safe than Japan. What does that mean ? Nothing. Luxembourg is safer than France. Does that matter ? No. Also, there are not really many foreigners in Japan anyway. About 2 million only for a rich country of 130 million people. Soon, South-Korea will have more foreigners living and working in South-Korea. America is the number 1 destination for the Japanese (emigration, work, studies, business etc...). Japan is not even among the 5 major destination for Americans for anything.

@mvps9287 The Japanese in Brazil are descendants of the Japanese who went there in 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. Just as they also are in Chile, Argentina etc....That was centuries before WW2. It's interesting to note that they are rejected by the real Japanese. Even with the presence of those pseudo-japanese in those countries the real Japanese do not go there as they normally should for business, studies, work, migration etc. The US treasury bonds held by Japan is not much really. It's only about 5% of all the US bonds debt. And there are investments for Japan not a gift. It's just equivalent to the stock market value of just one American company such as Tesla. Way smaller than those of Amazon, or Google or Microsoft etc. One thing is indisputable, America made modern day Japan. The real Japanese know that and say that.
