  16.  Noddy bebe Train  On the obesity issue, yes, some SIMPLY overweight people counted in the US as obese will not be counted as obese in France, Germany, Russia etc… and lots of stats out there on this theme do not use or conform strictly to BMI standards or cutoffs or whatever. Some sensation seeking US agencies love to exaggerate American figures just to retain attention in a noisy nation. Can’t remember the number of articles and videos I have seen these last 25 years that present people we will say in France are ‘’en surpoids’’ (excess weight) as obese in US stats and videos and studies. Some 6 or 7 years ago, I remember a French back from a 3 month trip to the US saying on French TV that he had to look for obese people giving all the hysteria in France about obesity in the USA. He had thought he will see them every day and at every street and road corner. Which to his surprise was not at all the case. The difference with France and Germany he said does not jump to the eyes (a french expression – Ça ne saute pas aux yeux).Meaning, the difference was not that visible. In other words, the hype is way exaggerated. But those American obesity hypes in France in reality are/were fuelled by American agencies and news media who are too scared of going unnoticed if they do not push out outrageous figures to the public. That’s the main problem of the US. The free electron carnivorous audience-hungry self-centered money-obsessed media outlets. They are terrible to that country.
