The status quo favors China and India does not like that but cannot do much for now. Fact is russia massively supplies weapons to Pakistan. And will do so also in the future knowing those weapons will one day be used against Indian and Indians. No power can sell weapons to a country in crisis with an ally. Remember the USA never called India an ally but a partner. Also, Pak an the USA have been way longer partner and even ally. So the USA has the right to help its long time ally Pak but russia has no right to sell offensive weapons to Pak if it really considers India an ally.

In 1962 Russia supported China during the war between China and India. During the Dokland crisis China asked Russia to suspend the delivery of weapons to India and russia obeyed. I could go on and on.
