Oahu is my place for best weather in the world (shirts and sandals year round). 70-86F year round with low humidity. CA surfing isn't great and you need to wear a wetsuit (unlike Hawaii).

@monkeyrater I lived in Hawaii for 6 years in my 7th floor condo with constant trade winds where I couldn't even open the windows more than 3 inches without feeling cold. I rarely ever even had to use the ceiling fans. Hawaii is not hot and humid. In fact it's the least hot and humid place I've ever lived in except for Alaska. I've lived in New York and DC and the 3 months of Summer there is 10 times worse than the hottest days on Oahu. I'm in South Korea right now and this summer we've had no rain and the heat index has been 105+ for several weeks now. This is hotter than any weather in New York I've ever seen. I've spent a fair bit of time in California as well and the nights in the 50s in San Diego and San Francisco isn't exact ideal weather for many.

@johnkean6852 the thing you got to remember is people working in Hawaii generally are compensated more taking into account cost of living. Yeah Philippines is cheap but it's hot and humid year round and I can't spend more than a month there honestly. Montenegro also cheap but you'll run out of things to do there. Whereas in 5 years in Hawaii I still haven't done all of the 500 hikes on Oahu, been to half the restaurants, or even been to half the beaches.

@johnkean6852 depends where. Waikiki and ala Moana are obviously going to be a lot more but if you're in a small town outside Honolulu they will be less. Other Islands are also comparatively less. If you want to be comfortable in Hawaii I'd recommend about $5,000 a month budget if you're single and 7 to 8,000 a month for two people if you want to live very well.
