  2. I have three rental properties in Hawaii and I visit there annually and I pay zero state taxes there since I am not a state resident of Hawaii, rather Alaska. I also legally pay zero on my real estate income and capital gains thanks to the US tax code. I think it's disingenuous to tell people that if you visit Hawaii for the beaches you will be paying high taxes. Simply not true.
