I'm quitting my mid-high 6 figures a year job to go explore the world. I have enough passive real estate income to support my lifestyle. I am so spiritually against what is going on in America.

@christopherbradley5575 If a dude told you he's quitting his job at McDonald's because he doesn't want to get a vaccine it doesn't show you the strength of his convictions and beliefs because he doesn't really lose anything in doing so.

@mentorinspired Appreciate it! It's a long time coming from travels in Asia meeting so many fantastic people. We only have one life to live.

Passive real estate income can come from various sources like partnerships and being a passive investor in syndications. I didn't say I own rental property in my OP.

@3520506 I'm in the service so I'm paid only $220K at my day job, and my passive real estate business pays me at least $150K annually as well. The job offers in my email on the civilian sector are for $600-750K+ starting. I'm not married and no kids. My real estate alone pays me $12K/mo. passively and I live on $5K in the US and much less overseas. Do you still think I need to tough it out longer? I'm in my 30s.

@idahosixgun5601 Thank you for your response. Since I'm already generating $12K/mo. passively at the absolute minimum, and don't intend to marry an expensive wife, and at present can't spend more than $5-6K a month even if I tried. Are you suggesting I will need more than $12K/mo. in the future to live? I don't pay attention to net worth, only the passive income my real estate portfolio generates. In my line of work, the most realistically I can take off is 9-10 months before my skills atrophy and people start asking questions.

@idahosixgun5601 great to see a fellow military doc on here. As a military medical officer yourself you should know that we have such things called service commitments which would not enable one to just go to the civilian side and make a higher salary. I agree while it's easy to inflate numbers on the internet I would be doing myself a disservice by asking questions with false numbers. I feel that I am underplaying my numbers but thanks for the feedback and your service
