  5. The other possibility for the origin of our language families is that the story of the Tower of Babel is fact and not folklore. Society completely broke down, humanity grouped according to family and perhaps clan; the inability to communicate with outsiders destroyed all hope of trusting them, let alone intermarrying with them, leading to the advent of races; each group developed its own language by creolizing all of the radically-different idiolects spoken by its members.
