What I have noticed amongst the left is their resort to categorization as their primary method of argumentation and even as their primary way of defining concepts. We all agree that racism is bad, but for the left, "bad ideas about race" is effectively the formal definition of racism. If they agree with an idea about race, it cannot possibly be racism, and if they disagree with an idea about race, it cannot possibly be anything else, and the dictionary be damned.
