  1. The reason scrum has in so many instance backslid into anti-scrum behavior is because American business management in general is dysfunctional. There is the widespread idea that if you're not holding a threat over a subordinate's head, you're not managing him properly. My current employer uses scrum, but if the number of story points I've completed is ever a "topic of concern" at a performance review, I'll be looking for another job.
