  1. The thing about Computer Science degrees is that this year Congress decided to monkey with business taxation. Normally a business can deduct labor costs from income, so that labor costs are not taxed. Congress made an exception for software developers. Their pay has to be spread out over the current tax year and the following four years. It's the real reason that software developer hiring has taken a hit as of this writing.
