As with factories, so it is with entertainment franchises: People who could never have built something on their own grow envious of the prestige enjoyed by those who can, noisily proclaim that they can run that thing even better than the person who created it, do what they can to seize the creations, and then go on to prove that their claim is a conceit with no factual basis.
